Restoration is Coming

God delights to swoop down and make us a thriving servant in His name.

Restoration is coming; believe it.  Whatever you need God to restore, He will not fail you.  He is able to move things on your behalf.  Whether it’s a relationship that needs repairing or for your strength to be restored, physically, trust that God is able to restore.

There’s a promise that it’s in the book of 1 Peter and it’s this:  “The God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.”  1 Peter 5: 10

If you are weary, this promise is for you.

Did you notice it says that God Himself will restore you?

Let’s consider HOW much God will restore.  Let’s go to Psalm 18: 32- 36 and begin here.  Let this be your declaration; repeat it out loud.

“It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect.”  Psalm 18: 32

How much strength will we receive?

“He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; He enables me to stand on the heights.”   Psalm 18: 33

Deer can travel to some pretty high places with those hooves.  Here’s why:   Deer hooves are toe tips covered by keratin. They are very important for deer because they support their weight, protect the bones and tissues inside the hoof capsule, and give them traction.

Your anointed feet were made to take territory, friends.  You were made to climb higher.  Climbing higher requires good traction.

Let’s look at how else God restores part of our physical body.  “He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze.”  Psalm 18: 34

That’s pretty darn strong!  Those hands folded in prayer are helping to win the battle.  Bending a bronze bow takes the mighty strength of someone who has great muscles.  When you pray, you are exercising those spiritual muscles.

We know that we cannot operate or navigate through life in our own strength.

So, whose strength are we given?

You give me your shield of victory, and your right hand sustains me; you stoop down to make me great.”  Psalm 18: 35

In case you missed the pronoun, that “You” is God.  We get not just any old shield; we get His shield!  Along with that, it is His right hand that sustains us.

Let’s look at His right hand and what that denotes.

The right hand of God is a metaphor for His omnipotence and authority.  It is also a biblical expression of the special place of honor that God gives to those who are faithful to Him.

His right hand activated over our life is His capability and strength to accomplish His will and protect His people.

God delights to swoop down and make us a thriving servant in His name.

Here’s the last point that I want to make on how the restoration occurs:  “You broaden the path beneath me, so that my ankles do not turn.”  Psalm 18: 36

Turning ankles don’t work when you are trying to learn how to ice skate.  I excelled in roller skating as a child, but with ice skating, my ankles would always turn in.

So, we need strong ankles that do not buckle or turn to broaden the path before our feet.

God wants to take us into new territory and new heights which requires being sure-footed like a deer.

So, as we close whatever reason you are in a battle right now and need to be rescued, the Lord is your support.  Here’s His promise:  “The Lord brought me into a spacious place; He rescued me because He delighted in me.”  Psalm 18: 19

In your restoration process, God will strengthen all that needs to be strengthened.
