My non-believing friends often ask me if our friendship is contingent on them believing in Christ.
My response:
“No, it’s not. I love you. Christ doesn’t love us because we love Him. He loved us first.”
Your salvation, however, is contingent on you giving your life to Christ. But that brings us back to one thing….love.
I love you.
Our friendship is not based on you believing the word of God. However, my love for you requires me to keep sharing the gospel with you.
That is love.
Love is heavy, weighty, and deep.
True love doesn’t come with conditions, it does however come with great responsibility.
Love will do everything to save your life, even if you don’t know you’re drowning.
This isn’t about creating mindless cult members.
This isn’t about creating slaves.
This is about having laid down, fully surrendered, fully invested, radically in love, followers.
Mary.
Mary in the tomb.
Her first love.
He returned for her.
He saved her.
Oh, how He loved her.
Oh, how she loved Him.
It’s about that.
It’s about love.
True love.
Selfless love.
Sacrificial love.
Wisdom is me learning how to be the Bible to you, and not just preach it at you.
Love is me identifying your pain point, and pointing you toward Jesus to heal.
Help me to love like you Lord.
Give me your heart – my precious Jesus.
Please get me out of the way.
Holy Spirit please draw them unto yourself.
Let me shine hope.
Let me represent the goodness of God.
Let me radiate the love of Christ.
Nothing less.
Nothing, nothing, nothing less.
