Because Father blessed us with the record of David’s life, we know that David did not have 100 percent fail-proof character in his identity when he did arrive to his promise; however, Father counted David’s heartfelt repentance for his sins as righteous. There are two extremely important points to note here, Beloved. First, Father is not looking for perfection but for character growth and quickness to repent for our failures and sins. Second, Father does not give grace as a license to sin. He expects us to learn from David’s mistakes and not to repeat them. Allow Holy Spirit access to your heart, as He will keep you. Say yes: “To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy—to the only God our Savior be the glory, majesty, power, and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen” (NIV, Jude 1:24-25).
David leaned into his relationship with Father, and leaned into the problem facing him. He did not jump ship when facing the military that hunted him down, withstanding being de-legitimized, and suffering loss of property and relationships. David took his pain to Father; he processed his emotions and his knowledge of Father’s goodness until he came to a right response. Beloved, allow the record of David’s life to encourage you to make a practice of dealing with problems like David did—do not run from them, but process your pain with Father. This is the fastest, straightest way from promise through problem to provision.
We do not want to lengthen our time in the problem by our wrong response to pain. The right response is to grow and change by facing the problem and by processing the pain with Father.
Beloved, I bless your spirit with receiving and responding to the truth about your promise, problem, and provision. I bless you with joy when you receive the prophetic word of promise because that is proof of the good plans, plans for a hope and future that Father has for you! I bless you with joy when you face the opposite situation than the promise you received. The problem, or trial, is the training ground for you to grow in character (your God-given identity) so that you can receive Father’s good promise for your good future.
Each round of the problem increases your faith and trust, which empowers you to move to the next level. Through this, the Kingdom is advanced, as is your character and promotion.
I bless your spirit with great, quiet, and abiding joy that provides a steady supply of energy to your soul and body as you face problems that even last years. Some problems will be quickly overcome. Your Heavenly Father will send you some of these so that you grow in confidence and skill. I bless your spirit with great, quiet, and abiding joy, even when the problem drags on, and you are leaning into your Heavenly Father, and you are doing the work of processing your emotions, reactions, and the Word of God to come to the right response to pain. I bless your spirit with sustaining joy that your Heavenly Father has by no means forgotten you during these times. In fact, He is even closer to you when you face trials of many kinds because He experiences the affliction with you. “In all their [your] distress, he too was distressed, and the angel of his presence saved them [you]” (NIV, Isaiah 63:9).
