The Secret Power of Kindness

We live in a world that recognizes and loves kindness but struggles to actually be kind.

Have you ever been going along, you see something, and you just say, “Oh my goodness that’s SO needed.” When I saw Greg Atkinson’s book on kindness, I had one of those moments.

Quick quiz, no googling: Is kindness a fruit of the Spirit?

If you were like me, you had to stop, stare off into space, and mumble to yourself “love, joy, peace…etc”

Somehow, kindness is one of those fruits of the Spirit that slips in under the radar; we almost forget it exists! So maybe it’s appropriate that the title of Greg’s book is “The Secret Power of Kindness.”

If you believe that the Holy Spirit can change the world, you need to believe that he will do that primarily through the fruit he produces in his people.

Ever noticed that God is like this also? After all, isn’t it “the kindness of God that leads us to repentance?” (Romans 2:4)

We live in a world that recognizes and loves kindness but struggles to actually be kind. Despite our “random acts of kindness” and “pay it forward” moments, we are more divided, isolated, and angry than ever.

In fact, a lot of conservatives and progressives (both!) these days actually view kindness as weakness!

Wow, this is needed.

Here’s what Greg says about the book:

The Secret Power of Kindness is a roadmap to unlocking the ten keys of kindness – and your power to change the world – in your own heart and life. Drawing from Christian principles and vulnerable personal stories, it takes you on a deep dive into your heart to help you become a genuinely kind person from the inside out.

It will show you how to:

  • Recognize and overcome the common barriers to kindness and find freedom from the wounds that keep you stuck in trauma, hurt, and unforgiveness.
  • Cultivate the inner qualities of kindness, such as generosity, empathy, and love, and unleash your true potential for good.
  • Practice self-acceptance and love, which flows into a life of peace, joy, and compassion for others.
  • Show up with more kindness in your life and make the world a better place.

Kindness can change the world. Inside this book is how to unlock its power in your life.
