First, it was “The Ellen Show.” Then, it was “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.” And as of last night, Lauren Daigle has performed on “Dancing With the Stars.” On Nov. 19, Daigle joined some of Hollywood’s biggest stars like Avril Lavigne and Robin Thicke by taking the stage on the series’ two-hour finale with her hit single “You Say.”
Daigle’s debut performances follow her rolling success with the recently released album Look Up Child. The success of her first album How Can It Be garnished a fan-following that eagerly took to Daigle’s new music. According to Billboard Magazine, Look Up Child marks the biggest sales for a Christian album by a woman in over 20 years since LeAnn Rimes’s 1997 album You Light Up My Life–Inspirational Songs.
With such record-breaking numbers, Daigle has found herself on some of the most popular secular stages singing her inspirational Christian music. Some have negatively spoken about her decision to partner with these platforms, but most of the Christian community is rooting for Daigle’s success. Fans and fellow artists from the Christian music community like Kari Jobe, Cory Asbury, and Darlene Zschech have publicly supported the singer through Instagram comments like “My jaw is on the floor… how EXCITING!!!” and “Freaking epic.”
Daigle even mentioned in an interview with WAY-FM Radio, “I think the second we start drawing lines around which people are able to be approached and which aren’t, we’ve already completely missed the heart of God.”
As far as what’s next, Daigle is interrupting her Look Up Child tour with special Christmas–season performances. The shorter tour comes in tandem with Daigle’s recently released Behold deluxe album. To purchase tickets and find tour dates near you, check out Daigle’s website here.
