God is Not Done With You

Stop counting yourself out when God already counted you in.

There’s this lie the enemy loves to whisper to believers, especially the tired ones, the wounded ones, the ones who’ve stumbled a few too many times: “God’s done with you.” Maybe you’ve heard it.

Maybe you’ve believed it. But I came to remind you today, that lie is straight from the pit of hell.

Let me say it as clearly as I can, “God isn’t finished with you.” Not even close.

You might not feel spiritual right now. Maybe you are a little bit numb, discouraged, or just plain stuck. Your prayers feel weak. Your faith feels small. Your past is loud. Your future feels foggy, and you’re wondering, “Did I miss it? Did I mess this whole thing up? Has God moved on from me?”

No!  A thousand times, no!

Paul wrote to the believers in Philippi. Not perfect saints, but real people just like you, and said this:

“For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work among you will complete it by the day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 1:6)

That good work in you didn’t begin with you. You didn’t wake yourself up to the things of God. He did. You didn’t save yourself. He did. You didn’t choose your calling or gifting out of thin air. God started it. And He doesn’t abandon what He begins.

Even if you’re crawling. Even if you’re barely hanging on. Even if your progress feels invisible. God sees what He planted in you, and He fully intends to bring it to completion.

Maybe you feel like you’ve wasted too much time.

David committed adultery and murder, and still found restoration. Peter denied Jesus three times, then preached to thousands. Jonah ran in the opposite direction and still saw revival. You think you’re disqualified? Read your Bible again. God doesn’t write people off. He writes them back in.

Beloved, I know some of you feel like you’ve taken way too many steps backward. But listen to me, God isn’t intimidated by your detour. He knows exactly how to reroute a surrendered heart. You don’t have to clean yourself up before coming back. You don’t have to “feel spiritual” before praying again. You don’t have to be on fire to be faithful. You just have to return. You just have to trust that the cross still speaks for you, and that grace doesn’t have an expiration date.

“The Lord is compassionate and gracious, Slow to anger and abounding in mercy… He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor rewarded us according to our guilty deeds.” (Psalm 103:8,10)

You might feel like a mess, but you’re still His.

You might feel behind, but you’re still in the story.

You might feel weak, but grace is made perfect in weakness. (2 Corinthians 12:9) So stop letting shame speak louder than Scripture. Stop giving more weight to your feelings than to God’s Word. Stop counting yourself out when God already counted you in.

Son, Daughter, you are not too far gone. You are not too late. You are not forgotten. You are valued. You are loved. Called. Covered and unfinished.

God is still writing your story. The Holy Spirit is still working. Jesus is still interceding for you (Romans 8:34), and heaven is still for you.

So today, shake off that guilt. Push back the fog of discouragement and say this out loud, even if you don’t fully believe it yet:

“God is not done with me.”

Because He’s not and He never will be.
