LANDMARK CHURCH

PASTOR MATTHEW MAHER

OCEAN CITY, NEW JERSEY

2 Timothy 4:6-8

As the world fights to be independent of God, the believer is called to make a declaration of dependence on Christ. In this powerful July 4th weekend message, we look at the words of Paul as he nears the end of his race—not holding back, but pouring out his life for the glory of God. Just as the 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence risked everything for earthly liberty, Paul gave everything for eternal freedom. This message challenges us to live like Paul—fighting the good fight, keeping the faith, and finishing the race—not with self-preservation, but with a poured-out life of worship. Because when freedom is divorced from faith, it becomes rebellion—but when it bows to Christ, it becomes righteousness.

About the Author

Matthew Maher is an author, speaker, and pastor. Through various vocations, he aims to inspire conscience and instigate conviction. Matthew has gone from pro to con to Christ (From the heights of success to the flatline of failure). As a professional soccer player, he followed the trends of the world while ignoring the truth of God’s Word.

As a result, in 2009, a life-altering failure would change his trajectory and have him collide head-on with the redemption of the Savior. Now he is no longer persuaded by the trends of the culture around him and is committed to share the truth of Christ within him, whatever the cost.
