My Thoughts
Melissa Jagears just might be the queen of marriage-of-convenience stories. I’ve loved every one of her books, no matter what trope it fell into, and this was no different.
With Nolan and Corinne, Jagears explores the nitty gritty of relationships. I found this refreshing, but I know this will be a turn-off for some. For me, though, I thought she did a great job exploring God’s plans for marriage and how we sometimes mess it up.
Nolan and Corinne are both well-rounded characters that I could relate to. And there’s great chemistry between them. More importantly, though, is the communication between them and Nolan’s support of Corinne’s endeavors.
Overall, Pretending to Wed is a sweet romance that marriage-of-convenience fans will enjoy.
