I believe that God’s People want to pray. Each of us hears a call from the Spirit of God deep in our hearts to pray. Into the Secret Place is designed to help you answer that call.
First, I present a careful exposition of biblical truth on prayer. Our modern world has reduced the common understanding of prayer to petition and little else. The Bible presents prayer as a multi-faceted process of praise, confession of Scripture, petition, intercession, and adoration. We will explore the teaching of Jesus and His Disciples and the history of prayer through the ages of the church.
Next, in order to learn to apply these truths in our lives, I supply a contemporary prayer book, 7 Days of Prayer. In this book, you will find seven services of morning prayer and one service of evening prayer that will guide you through prayer. What these times demand is a church that is deep in prayer and, therefore, powerful in this world.

ABOUT STEPHEN PHIFER
Dr. Stephen Phifer is a third-generation minister with more than four decades of experience as an inspirational writer, pastoral artist, worship leader, and conductor. He holds two degrees in music education and a doctorate in worship studies. His mission is two-fold: to tell the Jesus Story by every means available to him and to encourage renewal, reformation, and revival in the hearts of God’s people. He and Freeda, a marvelous musician and music educator, live in Bartow, FL.
