Is Jesus In Your House?

Jesus will only go into a home in which He has been invited.

And again He entered Capernaum after some days, and it was heard that He was in the house. Mark 2:1

People love to be around different famous people. When they hear that someone is famous is in the area, they will suddenly flock to where that person is. It is difficult for some famous people to go anywhere and not be recognized and swarmed with fans. These are people who are famous, but do very little for the people that follow them.

Mark writes that Jesus went into Capernaum again and people had heard that He was in some house.

Chasing after a famous person is common in the world. It gives a person the feeling that they got to see or meet someone important, even if it is only in passing or from a distance. Meeting someone famous is often very temporary and does not help anyone in the long run.

While the world is chasing after certain people, believers need to be seeking where Jesus is. Famous people of the world can only be in one place at a time, but Jesus is available to be everywhere at once. He can be in homes all over the world at the same time.

However, Jesus will only go into a home in which He has been invited. Most of the world will not invite Him into their homes.

Believers need to have their homes open to Jesus. He needs to be a part of their home so much that people will know that He is there. This home is not only their physical home but also their own personal life. The world needs to see Jesus in the life of every believer. As He is lifted up and shown to the world, many will come to Him.

You will most likely never have anyone super famous in your home. Many of your friends will not stand out as exceptionally great. However, as a believer, you can have Jesus in your home. It is He who made all of creation and provides salvation for all. Let Jesus be a part of your life and home so that the world may see and come to know Him just as you did. When Jesus is in the home, lives can be touched and changed. Miracles can happen, healing the sick and giving new life.

Is Jesus in your house?

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that Jesus will be welcome in your home and life; that others will know you follow Jesus; and that you will be a witness of who Jesus is and what He can provide for others.
