Thanksgiving Day- an annual holiday often celebrated with family and friends to remember and give thanks for all the many blessings in our lives. A day set aside to feast, laugh, and enjoy those gathered around our tables. What a beautiful sentiment and tradition.
Often our days and lives are so full we are hard-pressed to take the time to notice and give thanks for the good gifts at the hand of our Father. The Bible tells us that every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father of lights. (James 1:17)
Cultivating gratitude and remembering our blessings does not only bless and honor God. These practices will strengthen and encourage us to stand strong against the daily assaults of both the ways of the world and the hand of the enemy.
We pray today that you are blessed to spend time with those who are near and dear to you. May you be overwhelmed with gratefulness as you ponder the faithfulness and provision at the hand of God. And may this Thanksgiving inspire you to cultivate a daily habit of reflection on your many blessings and the goodness of God over your life.
“Let them give thanks to the Lord for his faithful love and his wondrous works for all humanity. For he has satisfied the thirsty and filled the hungry with good things.”
Psalms 107:8-9 CSB
