MEET MATTHEW (M.R.) DAVENPORT

I was born the first day of 1966. Since then, I have gained more than I have lost. Including my hair. I mean that I have lost it but gained more by…never mind.

I grew up number two of three. I have an older brother and a younger sister. Life has changed a bit since then, but God is the same!

It was my honor to serve in the US Army as an MP. I was fortunate that I never stood in battle.

Being a grandpa is a joy I can’t express. Yet I miss my own sometimes.

Someday, I should like to finish getting my degree. It was a major in web design. I might change it by the time I finish it. We’ll see.

VISION AND MISSION

AUTHOR. CRAFTSMAN. LOVER OF PEOPLE.

I do “things” with my mind (books), with my hands (wood turning), and with my heart (loving people). But it is in my spirit to see a world turned upside down for God. Something I still believe can happen. God is still God, and He still loves mankind!

I want to take the talents God has granted me and use them to show what it really means to love. I want to be the kind of person that gives and gives. Whether financially or with my time or with my love.

GOD. FAMILY. WRITING. FARM.

GOD – 1st is and always will be God. He is patient with me since sometimes I forget it’s God Who is Number One!

FAMILY – 2nd is my family. My beautiful wife Nancy and our blended family of 7 kids, 4 son-in-laws, and 10 grandkids!

WRITING – 3rd is writing. I literally could write until my body would not move anymore. I have published 5 books and just handed the manuscript for #6 to this beautiful team at Kingdom Winds. #7 is about 1/4 way done, and there is a long list waiting in the wings. I look forward to the day I can write full time.

FARM – I live on a farm. It is the most beautiful place in the world. My wife and I get to share the open sky, our wonderful garden, noisy, sweet goats, trees and vexatious chickens.

BRING LIGHT TO THE DARKNESS

I am called to bring light to the darkness, healing to the sick, the Gospel to the lost, joy to the downtrodden, and strength to the weak. Essentially, I am called to bring Jesus to a world that needs it more than ever!

PASSION TO WRITE

I hope to write something someday that will show the reader the grace and majesty of Jesus in such a way that He cries with joy of what I have given and is truly glorified. And writing worship songs…
