“He is alive. He is alive indeed.”
These words were repeated every week in the church Gary and I attended in Charlotte, NC. This week as I have been contemplating the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, they have been a constant refrain in my thoughts.
“He is alive. He is alive indeed.”
Truly a reason to celebrate.
Truly a reason for contemplation.
What does the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ mean for me? What does it mean for you?
This is a question that can lead us to His saving grace and new life in Him, the best and most important decision anyone will ever make.
I also believe it is a question we should consider more often and this time of year sets the stage to do just that.
The Spirit of the Lord God is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and freedom to the prisoners; to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor, and the day of our God’s vengeance; to comfort all who mourn, to provide for those who mourn in Zion; to give them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, festive oil instead of mourning, and splendid clothes instead of despair. And they will be called righteous trees, planted by the Lord to glorify him. Isaiah 61:1-3 CSB
I am grateful today and every day for the power of the cross. The power that saves me over and over from my sin and the sinful condition of this fallen world.
“He is alive He is alive indeed.” May we walk in this truth and may the lamb of God receive the reward of His suffering.
Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels around the throne, and also of the living creatures and of the elders. Their number was countless thousands, plus thousands of thousands. They said with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb who was slaughtered to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing! I heard every creature in heaven, on earth, under the earth, on the sea, and everything in them say, Blessing and honor and glory and power be to the one seated on the throne, and to the Lamb, forever and ever! The four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshiped. Revelation 5:11-14 CSB
