You Are a Tree Planted By the Living Water

Our root system requires an excellent source to feed it. Let’s feed it well and fix our eyes on the One who saved us.

The Word of God says-

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit” (Jeremiah 17:7-8).

I want to encourage you today by affirming that you are not crazy. Our faith is being tried.

Remember, God’s good and we are learning to be good to ourselves too.

Have you ever seen a tree with its roots exposed?

The roots that are exposed can lack the proper nourishment and protection they need.

In this moment the Lord is planting His trees by the waters because the roots are not receiving what we need to heal, to become stable. He has heard our hearts cry for help.

This season has been trying for many believers in Christ. The Lord is allowing our hearts to be weighed… our motives, our relationships, everything about us.

The gamut of our life is before us. Be encouraged that this is happening right now so we become stable and flourish even when the bigger storms come

Our root system requires an excellent source to feed it. Let’s feed it well and fix our eyes on the One who saved us.

Some of us are being asked to let go of things that have led nowhere. Like consuming empty calories where there is no benefit from the foods although they are tasty.

The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 10:23

“Everything is permissible,” but not everything is beneficial. “Everything is permissible,” but not everything is edifying.”

So I encourage you to tend to what needs to be addressed so that you can heal and grow unfettered.

I encourage you to not be distracted by the usual and to be mindful of the words below in James.

3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

James 1:3-8
