WORDS: They Reveal, Renew and Bring Breakthrough

Our words matter! We must ask the Lord to train our mouths to speak words that bless, give life, and empower those around us to run.

I love words! Being a writer means that paper is my canvas and words are my paint. Finding the right word to describe something seen in the spirit or in the natural is vital to helping the reader to understand and have vision.

Our ministry is called, “Inscribe Ministries” based off of the verse from Habakkuk 2:2 that says,

“Then the LORD answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.”

Writing a vision requires the right words which bring about understanding to the reader or listener of “how to run!“ It’s so powerful.

Jesus is called the Living Word because He encompasses everything found within the Word. All creation came forth from the words He spoke. There is power in words; to bless or to curse, to speak life or speak death, to empower or disempower, and to build up or to tear down, to create or to destroy.

Our words matter! We must ask the Lord to train our mouths to speak words that bless, give life, and empower those around us to run. Your words are usually a good way to x-ray your heart,

“A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.“ Luke 6:45

This is why we must follow the wisdom found in Philippians 4:8,

“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”

As we think on these things they renew our hearts and minds causing what comes forth from our mouths to profit those who hear our words. When I was a new believer my heart and mind still needed to be renewed by the Word therefore critical, negative, fretful, and judgmental words would leak out; always exposing what needed to be cleaned out of my heart. God was not condemning me, but if I were honest, my words were a clear sign of where my heart needed to be cleaned and renewed.

“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” Psalm 51:10

When my husband and I were directing a house of prayer for Patricia King she would lead prayer sessions with us where we would “decree the Word of God.“ These times trained our team and all who attended how much power comes forth as we decreed His written Word! I quickly saw the fruitful harvest that would come when I spoke aloud His Word over my life and my family’s lives. Decreeing His Word is like allowing your heart to be strained through the Spirit of Truth; filtering out all the dross.

I remember asking the Lord to put a coal of fire near my lips so that I would not speak anything unholy.

“So I said: “Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, The LORD of hosts.” Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs from the altar. And he touched my mouth with it, and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; Your iniquity is taken away, And your sin purged.” Isaiah‬ ‭6:5-7‬ ‭

These verses come right before the verse that says, “Here am I, send me.” This is so important before being “sent.” We must be sent with words of life, hope, truth that prosper and edify the hearer. We must go forth with hearts that have been made clean.

As we begin to see the light at the end of the tunnel regarding this global quarantine, I believe that the eyes of the Lord are searching the earth for the ones He might send. But let us first pray the scriptures written above. We need pure hearts, clean hands, words that have been freed from the grip of iniquity and thoughts that profitable to the hearer! We need words that release vision and cause the sent ones to run with purpose.

Today, listen to your words so that you can do a heart check. Then, if you find that your words are revealing areas that need to be renewed and cleansed; don’t enter into guilt or condemnation because God loves it when we receive His lovingkindness that brings discipline. He is so happy that you desire a clean heart and He has provided you WORDS TO LIVE BY.

It’s time to prepare to be sent ones! We must carry words of life that bear fruit wherever they are sown.
