How do we define Wonderful Counselor? Jesus is that to us and so much more. From time to time we all have had times when we sought out a good counselor. There are counselors for school, for our finances, sometimes for even marriage and family, or just need the advice of a good counselor for life situations.
The words of someone wise, trained, or experienced in a certain field, can make all the difference when seeking advice. But there is one who is above all counsel, who is wiser than anyone, who knows the beginning and the end. He is beyond any comparison. Yes, Jesus is in a league all of His own. Ponder this fact:
Jesus is and has always been.
Listen to these words as we understand the kind of glorious Counselor we have in Jesus. “You guide me with your counsel, leading me to a glorious destiny. Whom have I in heaven but you?” Psalm 73: 24-25
Then after we receive His counsel, we make this declaration: “I desire you more than anything on earth.” Psalm 73: 24-25 Why?
He simply is wonderful, more than wonderful.
“...His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, the Mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9: 6
When we seek His counsel, He tells us, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.” Psalm 32: 8
Jesus not only counsels us, but He leads and guides us with His eye upon us.
