Winds of Change

What I love most about Kingdom Winds is the emphasis to call Christians out of hiding. To empower them to live in their identity as creators and let God and others experience the gifts they’ve been given.

Day in, day out, diapers, cooking, folding, cleaning, nap schedules, and night feedings. I had been in the child-rearing world for years. As a stay-at-home mom watching additional children, my life was full of dirty diapers, spit up, and making baby food. I felt very much like a hermit wading through knee-high piles of dirty clothes. The most creative part of my day was planning dinner. Without any warning or premonition, I was no longer watching children, and when that season closed, I knew deep in my spirit that there was a big change coming—a big tidal wave that was going to shake everything up, rattle my senses, and breathe new life into me.

I wasn’t looking for Kingdom Winds or publishing. I didn’t think it was possible without living in a very large city, and I knew God had called me to Greenville. I knew He had a plan, and all I needed to do was follow. Well, it just so happened that God’s plan included me doing something I had always dreamed of doing—writing and publishing books! He’s such a good Dad, you guys!

Coming from a background of art and writing, having a bachelor’s in both and a very sincere deep connection to both, Kingdom Winds rolled in like a hurricane of blessing, ready to unearth the buried treasures and dust off the forgotten talents. After hearing the vision behind the company and the very real desire to help Christians excel in their craft while supplying an audience to what God was creating through them, I was ecstatic to be a part of it.

What I love most about Kingdom Winds is the emphasis to call Christians out of hiding. To empower them to live in their identity as creators and let God and others experience the gifts they’ve been given. Kingdom Winds’ deepest desire is to see the things that God wants to create through us be created, to be celebrated, to be seen, to be experienced.

As an artist myself, I know the struggle of creating something beautiful and then watching it sit forgotten in a stack of old canvases or wedged between papers in a cabinet. It’s very difficult to craft something that is meant to be experienced and watch as no one experiences it. Kingdom Winds wants to change that. God wants Kingdom Winds to change that.

God deserves to be glorified through the gifts He has given His people. The earth needs to experience what God wants to create through His people. The lost need it. Your children need it. And you need it. Kingdom Winds wants to be the avenue that carries these divinely inspired creative works to the hearts of His people.

Step out of the shadows, find your voice, dust off your pens, grab your paintbrushes, and start getting your hands dirty. See what God wants to birth through you, and join the amazing things that He is doing at Kingdom Winds.
