Why I Believe the Peacock is a Prophetic Symbol for the Next Season of the Church

Jesus is inviting us to do what the Father is doing! That means releasing His Glory on the Earth!

I was out golfing last Friday with some friends, and I went looking for a stray ball I had hit in some tall grass (which is not uncommon for me!). All of the sudden, I was within three feet of the largest, most beautiful peacock I had ever seen in my life. He was stunning. I have rarely seen one in the wild, let alone one so magnificent and majestic. He was so fascinating to me that I turned aside to observe him. It was at that moment that the Lord spoke to me and said, “The Peacock is a Prophetic Symbol for the next Season of the Church!”

The Revealing Of God’s Hidden Glory

When a peacock spreads its tail feathers, they are truly a sight to behold. Their feathers create a large semicircle of radiant, iridescent colors. There is an ancient Indo-Iranian saying, “The gorgeous peacock is the glory of God.” What’s ironic, is that during the normal activities of a day, they don’t look much different than the average fowl. Their beautiful colors are concealed from the outside world, until on rare occasions, when they choose to reveal their hidden splendor.

God is about to reveal His Glory in the earth! As Christians, we walk around carrying the Glory of God! John 1:14 says, “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” Just as Jesus became flesh and dwelt among us, God has so desired that each one of us would become a dwelling place for His Glory! As you walk through the normal activities of daily life, you look the same as everyone else, except, that you are a carrier of His Glory! You carry the iridescent radiance of His Kingdom! You carry His Power to Heal, His Grace to Forgive, and His Hope to Restore! I believe that God is revealing the Glory that we carry and He is inviting us into “Kairos Moments” where His Glory and Power can be put on Full Display!

Peacocks Represent Cherubim and Seraphim

In Isaiah, Ezekiel, and Revelation, it talks about the Cherubim and Seraphim. These are special Angels who carry and release the Glory of God! Just like peacocks, these powerful angels have eyes all over their bodies and wings. These are the angels who are constantly before the Throne of God. The Cherubim sit above God’s Throne as a Cover for His Radiance and Glory. The Seraphim are those who are constantly Ministering Unto the Lord, flying to and from His Presence, calling, “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.” (Isaiah 6:3; Revelation 4:8). The word “Seraphim” literally means “The Fiery Ones”. They burn brightly before the Lord and are focused on His Presence. In Isaiah 6:6-8 it says, “Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. With it he touched my mouth and said, “See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.” Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!””

God is releasing His “Fiery Ones” in this Season! He is asking, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” He is looking for the ones who will stand up and say, “Here I am! Send me!” He is looking for those who minister day and night before His Throne. Those who have had their eyes washed by the Light of His Presence and by the Radiance of His Glory!

Peacocks Represent Prophets and Seers

The “Eyes” located on the peacock’s tail feathers represent those who have “Eyes To See” what God is doing on the earth! God is specifically raising up Seers in this Season who have allowed God to cleanse their perspective with His Glory and His Goodness! Revelation 3:18 says, “I counsel you to buy from Me gold having been refined by fire so that you may be rich, and white garments so that you may be clothed and the shame of your of nakedness might not be made manifest, and eye-salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see.” God is anointing the Eyes of the Seer so that we may correctly see Him in this season and release His Glory on the earth. John 5:19 says, “Jesus gave them this answer: “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.” Jesus is inviting us to do what the Father is doing! That means releasing His Glory on the Earth! As it says, in 2 Corinthians 4:6 “For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.” I believe that people are going to begin to see God’s Glory released on the earth like never before!

Peacocks Represent Resurrection and Rebirth

One other fascinating aspect of the peacock’s feathers is that they shed them every single year in a process called “molting”. Molting means, “the shedding of old feathers in order to make way for new growth”. I believe that this speaks of a Resurrection and Rebirth that many are going to experience in this Season! There is a Resurrection and Rebirth happening in the lives of many Believers. God has allowed certain things to “fall off” that are no longer necessary, in order to make room for new growth! This will be a year of New Feathers and New Eyes! God is wanting you to Fly Higher and See Farther than before! You could say it like this, “His Favor is a Feather that will cause you to Soar!” He is breathing new life into areas that have felt old and dead. He is releasing fresh Vision and Hope for the future! He is reminding you of the Plans that He has for you! As Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future!”
