So Many are Suffering: Where is Our Healing Balm?

It is easy in times of increased stress and turmoil to feel overwhelmed and do less. But maybe God is calling you to do more.

For the hurt of my people, I am hurt. I am mourning; astonishment has taken hold of me. Is there no balm in Gilead, is there no physician there? Jeremiah 8:21-22 NKJV Adapted

Daily we watch many “unbearable” things unfold around us. It would seem the news reports continue to worsen as we hear about new happenings in our country and around the world. And, perhaps, you find yourself also contending with more personal battles. These negative forces eat away at our peace, joy, and hope.

What is the answer to our dis-comfort and our dis-ease? Where are hope and joy found? Not in the world. There is no adequate man-made solution available to counter our ills. The true source of our healing can only be found in Jesus.

Balm or healing medicine only works if people know about it, know how to get some for themselves, and know how to use it effectively. That is where those of us who call ourselves Christians come in. We can introduce people to Jesus. We can come alongside and help people grow and learn more so they are walking in the fullness of what Jesus has provided.

If you are reading this and want to learn about Jesus and this promised hope and healing, we would love to share more with you. Please reach out to us.

If you are reading this and call yourself a Christ-follower, I want to personally encourage you that now, perhaps more than ever, the world needs you. The world needs to hear your story and see and experience His love flowing from your life. It is easy in times of increased stress and turmoil to feel overwhelmed and do less. But maybe God is calling you to do more, to do more for the Kingdom. We surely know the world is lost, hurting, and in search of hope. We also are well aware many Christians are struggling, questioning what is true. Perhaps you are carrying the answer, the balm that they need. Don’t let it be wasted.

About the Author

Beth’s love of the written word has been evident her entire life. She has been an avid reader ever since she got her hands on a Sellersville Elementary School library card. Although she occasionally still enjoys a gripping novel, most of her current reading is focused on expanding her understanding of God and growing in Him. She is also deeply passionate about the Word and is diligent to hide it in her heart. Her journey into writing began much later in life. Beth’s first book Joy All Around Us, which she wrote with her husband Gary and their daughter Tara, was published in 2016. One of Beth’s passions is telling stories that engage readers and listeners while offering them wisdom and biblically-based solutions for navigating the twists and turns of life. She plans to continue pursuing both writing and speaking and focusing on helping those around her realize their God-given potential and dreams.
