What’s Your Weapon of Choice?

Jesus’ entire ministry was a picture of doing what He saw the Father doing and saying what He heard the Father saying.

Battles are inevitable, but victory is a choice. Warriors live a victorious lifestyle. They decide before they fight how they will fight. The weapons of warfare will determine the outcome. Jesus, our conquering King, lived this lifestyle. There was no short-term training. From the age of 12, He made it his habit to be under the teaching of the Word and continually pulling away to pray. He remained prepared at all times.

After Jesus’ baptism, the Holy Spirit led Him into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. Satan threw his first punch, and Jesus said, “It is written that man does not live by bread alone. But by every Word of God.” Luke 4:4 (KJV) Jesus’ entire ministry was a picture of doing what He saw the Father doing and saying what He heard the Father saying.

After this battle, Jesus emerged from the wilderness full of the Holy Spirit and power. For the next three years, He would cast out devils and heal all manner of sickness and disease. He fought in the garden with this same power. Not my will, but yours be done. In essence, saying again, I do what my Father says to do.

Choose this lifestyle. Be full of the Word and led by the Holy Spirit. Listen for your instructions. Do what He says to do. Say what He says to say. Choose your weapons carefully and learn to use them now. Don’t wait until you are thrust through with a crisis. Take time to train today. Living as Jesus lived is certain victory!
