What is it that You Seek from Life and from Others?

If we look in the mirror, we see ourselves; but what’s inside is what should be seen by others.

Let’s begin with this verse:  “As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart.”  Proverbs 27: 19

Folk’s everywhere struggle with the meaning of life.  To help us understand this, let’s reflect on this question:

Does our life reflect the heart of God?

If we look in the mirror, we see ourselves; but what’s inside is what should be seen by others.  This is the heart of the question.  (Pun intended)

When people see and interact with us, do they see Jesus?

I don’t mean just in our countenance, but in our words and in our deeds.

The beautiful thing about reflecting someone in life comes from embracing and seeking that one from within our life.

So, to answer the question in our title, “What is it that you seek from life?” My answer would be to glorify God and live for Him so others see Him, not me.

If Jesus reflects our hearts, folks will know He lives there.

HOW SHOULD WE RESPOND Today, make it your goal to give to others the very thing you seek.  As Paul told Timothy, “Reflect on what I am saying, for the Lord will give you insight into all this.”  2 Timothy 2: 7
