Warrior Season

Start wielding the prophetic promises God has given you like a sword in this season and watch them be fulfilled!

As I was spending time with the Lord recently, He spoke to me and said, “This is a warrior season.” I found it interesting that the Lord said it was a warrior season, not a season of warfare. I believe the reason for this is because warrior is an individual term. I believe that this word is specific to individuals. God is about to bring so many into the promised land and into a season of victory. However, of course, we know that the enemy is going to try to stop you.

John 10:10 clearly tells us that the enemy’s assignment is always to steal, kill and destroy. We can expect him to fight us every time we are trying to advance. However, 1 Timothy 1:18 says that we can war with our prophetic words as weapons. Start wielding the prophetic promises God has given you like a sword in this season and watch them be fulfilled!

Isaiah 54:17 says, “No weapon formed against you shall prosper…” It does not say that no weapon will be formed against you. It just says that it will not prosper! When you know you are in right alignment with the Lord, you can trust that whatever the enemy throws at you will not harm you. When you encounter warfare, know that the enemy will be defeated and keep moving forward confidently with the Lord.

In 2 Chronicles 20, we find the story of Jehoshaphat. Israel was going to be attacked by 3 different armies and instead of trying to win the battle in his own strength, Jehoshaphat sought the Lord through fasting and prayer for Heaven’s strategy. The Lord answered Jehoshaphat in verses 17-18 and said, “You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you.” I believe this is also a word for this season. Do not shrink back in fear, mighty warrior! Stand your ground and trust that the Lord is going to fight your battle!

We see in the rest of 2 Chronicles 20 that the Lord turned the 3 armies against one another and they destroyed each other. Israel did not even have to fight! Verse 25 and 26 tell us that it took Jehoshaphat and his men 3 days to gather the spoils from the defeated armies! Remember in this season that if you are encountering warfare, do not be dismayed. The enemy never goes to battle where there are no spoils! When God brings you into victory, get ready to gather the spoils! Like Jehoshaphat, it may be strategic for you to set yourself apart in prayer and fasting until you receive your victory from the Lord.

Your responsibility in this hour is to position yourself spiritually, mentally, emotionally, physically, financially for victory. Now more than ever it is critical for you to be well-equipped as you pursue all that God has for you. This is a season to listen to life-giving voices and messages. Surround yourself with people of faith and those that believe in what God has promised you. Make sure to put on the full armor of God, stand, and watch the Lord bring you into all that He has promised. This is your warrior season!
