Warning Dream for the Prophets

Things look different in the dark and that which isn’t aligned with God’s purposes becomes more evident.

Two nights ago in a dream, I was walking on a path in a wooded area that was dark and wet. All of a sudden, I found myself surrounded by large yellow frogs with black spots. I looked around and they were everywhere, seemingly on guard and ready to move. I was very unsettled as they seemed to be on task.

I woke from this dream knowing immediately that it was a warning, not only for me personally but for other prophets and prophetic intercessors. I believe the brief night parable is providing some key details as to the enemy’s strategies in the coming days and how to stand against them.

There is a widely recognized yellow frog with black spots called the Golden Poisonous Dart Frog. Usually found in warm wet climates, it is said to be the most poisonous animal on the planet. Its toxin is so lethal, the venom from one frog can kill several grown men. The poison comes from the special diet of these frogs in the wild. Those raised in captivity are not as toxic due to the different food source. The effects of this poison result in paralysis to the nervous system – especially the heart – and there is only one species of snake that can withstand a lethal dose of the poison from the Golden Dart Frog.

I believe these few descriptions in the natural provide some powerful parallels in the spirit. The Lord is showing us a picture of how the enemy is going to try and attack prophets and prophetic intercessors and those who are standing for truth in dark places.

THOSE WHO HAVE FED ON LIES ARE ABOUT TO SHOOT TOXIC ARROWS OF ACCUSATION

Just as the Golden Dart Frog is toxic due to its food source in the wild, so are people’s minds toxic when feeding on the enemy’s lies. Our spiritual adversary will use those who have fed on lies and half-truths to shoot out FALSE ACCUSATIONS to those standing for truth. These arrows will aim for the HEART in hopes of causing doubt and fear of failure. A SPIRIT OF OFFENSE will seek to immobilize the prophets by attacking their nerves and peace of mind, questioning their motives and agendas. These lies may not be that big (dart frogs are actually very small) but they can be just as lethal to the spirit.

Hide me from the secret plots of the wicked, from the throng of evildoers, who whet their tongues like swords, who aim bitter words like arrows, shooting from ambush at the blameless, shooting at him suddenly and without fear. They hold fast to their evil purpose; they talk of laying snares secretly, thinking, “Who can see them?” (Psalm 64:2-5 ESV)

We must stand against this by keeping our distance and not engaging in baseless conflict. The toxin of the Golden Dart Frog is so strong, even touching its skin can cause harm. In like manner, the Lord is urging prophetic voices to not entertain baseless accusations or even “touch” them. Recognize the trap and avoid the spring. Guard your hearts and minds and declare God’s peace to displace any doubts.

It was only after I reflected more on this dream that I realized a hidden promise. I had seen these frogs quickly because it was DARK. Had it been daylight, they would not have been near as noticeable. The Lord’s grace is at work here. There are some works of darkness that can only be seen in the thick of the night and the conditions are right for their appearance. Things look different in the dark and that which isn’t aligned with God’s purposes becomes more evident. It is at this time the Lord empowers us to recognize the devil’s schemes and stand clear of his lethal darts that bring death and destruction.

Please be in prayer for the prophets and for prophetic intercessors in the days ahead. The enemy wants to silence their voices and cripple their walk. As we pray for our light to shine in the darkness, we can be assured that God Almighty is dealing with His adversaries and turning those tainted arrows against them.

But God shoots His arrow at them; they are wounded suddenly. They are brought to ruin, with their own tongues turned against them; all who see them will wag their heads. Then all mankind fears; they tell what God has brought about and ponder what He has done. (Psalm 64:8-9 ESV)
