Do you see yourself as a useful vessel? Are you being used by God in the way you desire?
Here’s a Scripture I was meditating on recently: “In a large house there are vessels not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for noble purposes and some for ignoble. If a man cleanses himself from the latter, he will be an instrument for noble purposes, made holy, useful for the Master and prepared to do any good work.” 2 Timothy 2: 20-21
First Miracle: Jesus turns and transforms ordinary man into “vessels of honor” to be used for Him and by Him.
Remember when Jesus turned the water into wine, those jars (vessels) were used to be poured out. These “stone water jars,” the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each hold from 20 to 30 gallons.
These babies were huge and heavy. Their capacity was large enough to cleanse the hands of all the guests during a lengthy feast.
- Never limit your capacity when Jesus brings transformation.
- God is big enough to change what needs to be changed.
- Even hearts made of “stone” can be useful and fit for the Master’s purpose, after He cleanses and fills.
At the wedding when the wine ran out, the servants were instructed by Jesus, to “Draw some out and take it to the Master of the banquet.” John 2: 8
- When we are empty, run to the Master and draw from Him.
Jesus took ordinary water and turned it into wine, not just wine, but the finest, wine. The finest is the new wine.
- Jesus takes ordinary things and makes them extraordinary (miraculous.)
At the end of that story, it says this: “He revealed His glory and His disciples put their faith in Him.” John 2: 11
Facts About Vessels
- Vessels hold and carry water, to be poured out.
- Vessels are useful to the Master for any good work.
As a believer, you are a “Vessel of Honor” that God wants to use for His purposes.
- YOU hold the very life and love of God within you.
- YOU carry His anointing, His miracle-working power within you.
- YOU were created to be His instrument, for noble purposes, to be useful for the Master, Jesus Christ.
Me, you ask? Yes, YOU!
WHERE is God assigning you? WHO is God wanting to pour Himself into, through you? Who, in your life, needs unconditional love and transformation?
- YOU are a container of the glory of God.
- YOU are a sign and a wonder.
- Release and reveal His glory.
- It’s within you, for He is within you!
“In that day the mountains will drip new wine and the hills will flow with milk; all the ravines of Judah will run with water. A fountain will flow out of the Lord’s house and will water the valley of acacias.” Joel 3: 18
Flowing from God’s presence, streams of blessings, will refresh God’s people and make their place endlessly fruitful.
The acacias plant flourishes in dry soil. The picture implied in the scripture is that of a well-watered desert.
YOU are a well-watered garden. YOU have inside of you, a fountain of the Lord. Let Jesus, the Living Water, flow out of you. Many are spiritually dry, broken needing to be restored and refreshed. The capacity inside of you, as a believer, can reach many. Your well shall never run dry. YOU are the answer for the dryness and chosen to water those who need to be refreshed.
Let the water of the Holy Spirit be poured out. Jesus is waiting for us to “draw out” from Him. He is waiting to release healing. He is waiting to release restoration to the lives around us. He wants us to “draw from Him” for everything we need. He is our water supplier and our water source. He is our reservoir. Reservoirs serve communities. It’s time NOT to limit what has been deposited. It’s time to tap into our resources, draw from and release.
