Unlikely Rescuers

This display of unity and its resulting rescue will become a witness to the world that Jesus is alive.

As the world continues to give us reasons to be divided against each other, that tactic will soon backfire. As social decay and talk of revolution increase within the nations of the world, our unity in Christ will be displayed in such powerful ways that it will dismantle the current level of division we are experiencing and confound its perpetrators with undeniable evidence of the power of God’s love.

Some of you will enter perilous situations where those you previously labeled as an adversary will come to your rescue. Hands of rescue will be extended to you from unlikely sources. These extended hands will offer financial, emotional, and spiritual rescues.

When our hands are grasped by unlikely rescuers it will signal that a turn has been made in the heart of the Church. That turn will display to the world a new level of unity within the Church. Our unity will deepen when we reciprocate and reach out to those who would not expect us to return the favor. This will not be a false unity that compromises truth to gain acceptance. It will be a unity empowered by the love and truth of Jesus. That display of unity and its resulting rescue will become a witness to the world that Jesus is alive.

“I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message. I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me” (John 17:20).
