Two Pathways: Pathway of Light

Our faces should shine with His glory, more and more as we position ourselves in God’s presence.

Which path are we choosing?  It’s time to decide if we want to turn the bend.  We are told to, “Make level paths for your feet and take only ways that are firm.  (Proverbs 4: 26)

How I got to this verse was a picture I was seeing in my spiritual eyes, two paths that are before us. One path is defined as Pathway of Light, and the other, Pathway of Darkness.

What defines this Pathway of Light? “The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.”  (Proverbs 4: 18)

On this path, the Godly have all the protection and guidance they need.  Light is bright and it’s getting fuller and brighter.  The fullness of the Light shall be displayed.

Kingdom pursuing believers are to walk on the one path, the path of righteousness.

It’s where the light and fullness of the Light of Jesus is brighter and brighter.  For example, the sun is hotter at 5 PM than at 8 AM.  As the full light of day approaches, it gets brighter and brighter as the daytime progresses.

  • The longer one stays in the light, the more one is affected by the warmth of the light.

Our faces should shine with His glory, more and more as we position ourselves in God’s presence. Prayer and worship, and spending time with Jesus, will get us there.

  • Being in the presence of the Lord will make us brighter.

Kingdom-minded folks are people who love His presence and prayer.

What does the first gleam of dawn produce?  Let’s look at some cross-references:

Job 22: 28-29  “You will pray to Him and He will hear you and you will fulfill your vows. What you decide on will be done, and light will shine on your ways.”

  • Praying brings us into His Light, as His glory is released.
  • The path will be lit on our ways, our walking out His ways.

Watch what happens after that:

2 Samuel 23: 4  “When one rules over men in righteousness, he is like the light of morning, like the brightness after rain that brings the grass from the earth.”

  • Righteousness in us produces light and growth that others see.

Daniel saw it when he prophesied in Daniel 12: 3:Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.”

Kingdom-minded followers lead others to the Light.

Isn’t this the purpose of the Light?  Are we being wise?  Are we imparting wisdom?

The path of the righteous is level; O upright One, you make the way of the righteous smooth.”  (Isaiah 26: 7

Our Kingdom walk is made smooth, as we carry out His ways.

KINGDOM PRINCIPLE:  Wise paths of Kingdom-minded people are made level and firm in what they believe and how they walk.  They display the Lord’s peace and glory.
