We can use The Word of God (the sword) to cut off ears or we can use the Word of God- who is Jesus – to heal.
Peter cut off an ear. Jesus had to heal the man he cut.
Peter had good intentions. Jesus still had to clean up his mess.
We must stop chopping off ears and start healing hearts.
How are we using scripture to reach people?
Truth in love doesn’t look anything like what I’ve been seeing.
I see ears flying.
You will never reach people by bashing them with scripture.
Reach people’s hearts.
Show them Jesus heals.
Facilitate that healing by being LOVE.
No one can hear us when we cut off ears… and some of us sound like clanging gongs even if they could.
Never forget what your sin looked like and remember how LOVE came down.
LOVE
CAME
DOWN
People are broken.
People are hurting.
People are traumatized.
People have been abused.
People are tortured.
PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW THAT GOD DESIRES THEIR HEART.
Scaring people with hell?
God doesn’t want people because they don’t want hell.
God wants people to want Him.
That is His Truth In Love.
Love people.
It’s the GOODNESS OF GOD that draws men to repentance.
That’s what drew me.
Did hell draw you?
