Training of Prophets

Intercession is where governmental prophets are developed and a place they learn to operate from.

Many people ask me, “How do you train the prophets in your church community?” The answer to that is simple, “In intercession.” Yes, we have prophetic teaching and training, schools, and so forth, but the depth of a prophet is developed in intercession. Our intercession groups are where our prophetic community is developed and trained, and their gifting is also tested and weighed. They learn how to govern, not just give prophetic words. They learn to understand how the realm of the prophetic is greater than prophesying “thus says the Lord.” They begin to understand a lot of their dreaming is for intercession and they learn how words are birthed through intercession.

When prophets are developed in the chambers of team intercession under leadership and are accountable in flowing in the spirit, the depths of the supernatural that manifests in a “behind closed doors” intercession environment gives birth to nurturing maturity and soundness in the supernatural.

They learn the fear of the Lord as they encounter the realm of the spirit and learn how it operates and not to muck around with it. They learn governmental authority and their jurisdiction. They also learn to be vulnerable and correctable as they submit one to another in the flow of the spirit and leadership. There is no room for show ponies; the environment won’t allow it. They can’t take over, take it off track, and do what they want to do. They learn what it is to be a New Testament prophet who flows within a community “seeing in part.” The culture of honor is cultivated deeply as each person sees the end result of each assignment and how the end result of each time we gather cannot be achieved without each person’s vital input led by Holy Spirit.

Intercession is not for little old ladies who have nothing better to do with their time. This narrative is a stereotype the church has somehow projected surrounding intercession. And this statement by no means takes away from the powerful governance those of the elderly generation has in the realm of intercession for decades. They have been faithful to their assignments…. My mum being one of them. Many of these elderly warriors are generals and no one would ever know their names. My point is intercession is for all genders and all ages.

Intercession is where governmental prophets are developed and a place they learn to operate from. This is reigning, and when a prophet is developed in these intercession chambers, they are then able to shift territories by their “thus saith the Lords” in a public place.

Too many prophets SAY when they should PRAY.

Not all intercessors are prophets but ALL prophets are intercessors.” – Cindy Jacobs

To be honest, some of the most powerful times God has used me prophetically over nations, cities, and serving the body of Christ have been behind closed doors in intercession.

This is the engine room and truly where the “way of the Lord is prepared.”
