Think Like I Think

In order to think the way that God thinks you may have to unlearn things, you have been taught that are actually not of the Kingdom.

Recently in a time of corporate prayer, the Lord spoke to me and said, “You must think the way that I think.” I knew that the Lord was speaking to me about the importance of having a Kingdom mindset, especially in this season.

Then, of course, I was reminded of Proverbs 23 and seven which says, “As a man thinks, so is he.” Whatever we think about we will eventually bring about. That’s why having Kingdom thinking is so necessary if we want to see God’s Kingdom advanced in and through our lives.

This is true in every season but I sense from the Lord that this is especially critical for the upcoming season. You will do what God has said you will do and become who God has said you will become. Every prophetic word and promise that God has given you will come to pass because He is faithful.

However, if you are going to do what God has called you to do and become the person, He has called you to become then you must think the way He thinks. A Kingdom mindset is one of the most important things you need to develop as you pursue your destiny. When I adapted to and adopted a Kingdom mindset, I had greater discernment. Sometimes well-meaning people can give us good words that are not actually from God. Only a word from God can sustain you and only a true word from God will come to pass. People often mistake good advice for God advice. But there is a difference. When we allow the Lord to teach us how to think the way He does then we will know the difference.

In order to think the way that God thinks you may have to unlearn things, you have been taught that are actually not of the Kingdom. There are a lot of teachings and traditions out there that may sound good but are not from Heaven. We often pray for revival or reformation to come in our churches or in our cities but what we really need is for our minds to be reformed and renewed first.

Many have felt an emptiness or dissatisfaction with different areas of their lives and are unable to figure out why. Everything may appear to be going well in the natural but something just feels off. I think the reason for this is often that we lack the discernment we need to think the way God thinks because we do not have Heaven’s perspective of ourselves or our lives. If we want to live the abundant life God has for us, we must think with an abundance mindset. If we want to live lives full of the fruit of the Spirit and the power of God then we must think biblically and view things through a Kingdom lens. If we want to live lives full of purpose and destiny then we must adopt God’s way of thinking.

Complacency is birthed by remaining in your comfort zone. Don’t stay there! Get out on the water with God. See things the way Heaven does. Listen to what the Holy Spirit is speaking to you and allow the Lord to teach you to think the way He thinks!
