The Turning Point

The greatest defeat of the plans of the devil is to lead people to Jesus to encounter Him as their Lord and Savior.

There is a growing awareness of the spiritual realities of what we see transpiring in our world. The Lord is waking up the spiritual senses of His Church, allowing them to see with increasing clarity the spiritual entities behind the actors used to implement change that will usher in increasing levels of evil. This insight is offered so we can direct our prayers and actions under the leading of the Spirit toward the fulfillment of God’s will for all people and all nations.

This time in history has several metaphoric images that could be used to describe what is happening. Many are sensing a bubble of assumptions ready to burst, the early tremors of a volcanic eruption of global financial institutions, or a rapidly decaying dam of censorship about to burst its containment to reveal the truth of a matter.

These images are not fear-producing for those whose faith is anchored in Jesus Christ. They are discernments offered to us to know how to respond to the increasing levels of fear and uncertainty these things will bring when people know something is wrong but do not know where to turn for help.

The spiritual and emotional focus of a follower of Jesus in such times must be laser-focused on the Lord. The Lord will use this time of an attempted cultural and global reset toward greater depths of evil to make Himself known in profound ways. While there are times we will be called to intervene in these deceptions, those issues are not our primary focus. Jesus is.

All we see transpiring on the world stage that is creating uncertainty and dread will be used to prepare people to accept the truth about Jesus Christ when all other hopes of rescue have failed. The greatest defeat of the plans of the devil is to lead people to Jesus to encounter Him as their Lord and Savior. If we spend our time trying to get people to adopt our worldview or vote a certain way without first knowing the Lord, we will waste the tremendous opportunity this time of uncertainty provides to expand God’s Kingdom. The only significant and enduring turning point in life comes when people submit their lives to the Lordship of Jesus. That is the only turning point that can make a lasting impact on our world.

“Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19).
