The Spirit of Judas: Hidden in Plain Sight

In every form of communication, they are all subject to the source that dominates or controls it.

Where do you get your information from? Is it mainstream media, gossip, local newspapers, social media groups, neighborhood chatter?

I ask because regardless of where you get your source of information, there is one common theme amongst them all—the airwaves. Communication from within the U.S. must travel through the airwaves in order to reach Central America, Europe, Africa, North America, Asia just like it does Kentucky, Miami, Atlanta, or anywhere else. Correct?

In every form of communication, they are all subject to the source that dominates or controls it. Example: Twitter is run by an extremely liberal CEO, Facebook is run by a similar figure, Mainstream Media like CNN, FoxNews, MSNBC, NBC all have CEOs who share the same characteristic — greed.

So who dominates the airwaves? The Bible says there is only one source. His name is satan. Ephesians 2:2 identifies him like this, “the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience.” 2 Corinthians 4:4 identifies him this way, “the god of this world who has blinded the minds of the unbelievers.”

So we see he is:

1. The prince of the power of the air. (Ephesians 2:1)

2. The great dragon who deceived the whole world. (Revelation 12:9)

3. He is a murderer and liar and the father of it.  (John 8:43-45)

4. He is “like” a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. (1 Peter 5:8)

5. The serpent who is more cunning than any beast of the field. (Genesis 3:1)

6. The ruler of this world (John 14:30)

He will rule any political party, nation, or soul that allows him to. He has authentic power in the world (1 John 5:19). This power has been given to him by God. The reason Satan is called a prince rather than a king is that there is only one King—Jesus Christ (1 Timothy 6:15).

Interestingly, many individuals are furious or in shock that several of President Trump’s “friends” have distanced themselves from him during a time when some may say he needs them most. What is there to say about this? Is their (neutral) behavior anything new in politics or even life? No!

There was a man named Judas Iscariot who walked, talked, and even dined with Jesus Christ. He had intimate time with Jesus as his close friend and was amongst eleven other men who were titled, Disciples. What is the similarity between Judas Iscariot and many of America’s Congressional leaders and world leaders fleeing Donald Trump now? One word— character.

Satan also has power over some people. The “sons of disobedience” such as Judas are very much active today as they were when Jesus walked the earth. Judas simply had to be provoked to be exposed. Provocation ALWAYS reveals what is beneath the surface. He always had the propensity to be what he ultimately became— a betrayer. Judas like many today carried within him a seed of disobedience that Satan simply had to exploit. Exploitation needs only to find an open door to have its way.

For this reason, the current “waiting” season is critical, for it exposes even the depths of the human soul that cannot otherwise be observed from the naked eye or understood with eloquent speech. Only repentance can evict the seed of disobedience from within all of us. So take heart, the spirit of Judas is being exposed now. The Lord Almighty is steadily exposing layer by layer in everything that can be shaken, in hopes of one thing—REPENTANCE.
