The Remedy

Putting on praise when encountering a spirit of heaviness may be uncomfortable because it’s not something you are used to doing.

I have a specific word for anyone with a heavy heart and or mind today…

Do you want to know the will of God for you right now? If He was physically present, I see Him putting both hands on your shoulders, looking you in the eyes, and saying, “It is my will that you be anxious for nothing!” – Yes, it is really possible to have unshakeable joy. It begins with speaking praise from a heart of thankfulness. There is a promise you can take hold of by living according to His remedies.

I have to admit something if I’m going to talk about this. I was awakened this morning with it on my mind. I usually pray and take it as a sign to share a targeted word from the Lord, so here goes…

I thought about a season back in 2015 when I was first diagnosed with Diabetes. I was given insulin to take, but for a few reasons (we’ll discuss in a moment), I simply refused to take it. This is ignorant, right? And maybe you can agree with me on that in a nonjudgmental way like I’m viewing it now. View it as a parent with a sick child that won’t take their meds. You aren’t angry. You just want them well. The Lord wants you well and whole today!

I mean, it’s really unwise to have the antidote to a problem and cling to a case of the “I just don’t want to’s” when it comes to taking the remedy.

1st, It was something I wasn’t used to doing.

2nd, It was very uncomfortable.

3rd, I wasn’t in THAT MUCH pain over the issue at the time.

4th, I was stubborn and didn’t want to accept that I had to rely on anything.

Surely a sign of youth? Maybe not. Every day I see people of all ages(including myself sometimes) who have Christ, know their salvation, and yet refuse to put on a garment of praise for their spirit of heaviness.

I made a change. When the pain of facing strokes and numbness in my feet and fingers over NOT taking medicine became unbearable, THEN I was willing to submit to what has been proven to work. Is the heaviness you have unbearable yet? If so, you are in a good place for a miracle-producing change.

Jesus, Himself said, “He who is sick, needs a physician.” – There’s nothing wrong with being needy when Christ is your answer. Don’t feel discouraged that you sometimes feel heavy-hearted. Don’t feel like your faith is weak or the weight of the heaviness is something you are meant to live with. No, this is not the bed you’ve made and now you have to lay in it. It is a strategy from the thief who wants your peace, your joy, and your strength.

The answer is A GARMENT of PRAISE! Speak of His goodness not just internally but one to another! There is power in this.

I’ve seen praisers shake depression, anxiety, worry, and fear. I’ve seen praisers praise their way right out of strongholds and addictions. I’ve seen praisers healed in a moment, bring light to darkness, and inspire loved ones to come back to Jesus and that’s just the smallest results…

Has He ever forsaken you? Has He ever made you feel love so strong it felt like it would consume you? Has He ever whispered words of encouragement in hard times, and YOU JUST KNEW it wasn’t from your own mind? Has He ever touched your body? Has He ever worked things out for your good that you in no way ever thought would be good?

You have so much goodness of God over you, my friend. Rejoice! And be even wiser…shut up the mouths that speak against your happiness, and don’t fellowship with people who feed your pain.

Taking the remedy of putting on praise when encountering a spirit of heaviness may be uncomfortable because it’s not something you are used to doing.

It may take a little gusto to choose not to focus on the things weighing you down.

It might take admitting how much you really need God like you never have before…But enough is enough. It’s time to live in a better state of being. The way Jesus desires for you to live.

The three Hebrews refused to bow down to the idol because they knew whatever they placed above themselves became their God. Put Jesus above your problems today. Praise Him in the middle of the stress taking your focus on what you have in Him, not what you don’t have in this life. This will be medicine to your soul and God will get what He want’s from you, your total reliance on Him so He can give you the best of this life. Happiness abundantly.
