The Overflow of Being Loved

God longs for you to know— and experience— how great His love is for you!

Posted on

Recently, all night I was experiencing an “overflow” of knowing how deeply loved I am by our Father. Did you know that love empowers you? Knowing how deeply loved you are causes you to want to love others deeply— without hesitation or holding anything back.

The reason that most people withhold love is due to not knowing (on a personal level) how deep and wide God’s love for them is. Or, they may know it as a “fact” but not experientially. Love must be experienced! You can say you love me but unless I experience it, it is only words. I must see it in action— such as the Father did when he sent his son to die for us. I have sons and cannot imagine a love so great that I’d give one of them up for someone else— what kind of love does that? Agape love!

Once you’ve experienced our Heavenly Father’s love— you are transformed. Suddenly what was empty is full— fully loved. Many come into their moment of salvation having never truly experienced love. They are empty and longing and because of that, they have learned to withhold love. But the Father desires each of his children to not only “know” that he loves them, but to experience the height, depth, and width of his love. It is a love that cannot be contained and has to overflow! It is bigger than us, more than we can contain or comprehend— it is endless and without conditions.

The Father loves his Son so much! There are no words for how much and yet he gave him as an offering for your life! He longs for you to know— and experience— how great his love is for you!

Loved people love! The more you’re loved the more love you have to give. If you have not experienced the love of God— ask him for that experience. He loves to love you. His love heals broken hearts, mends wounded souls, creates sons and daughters, and fills you to the point of overflowing.

“And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.” Ephesians 3:18

The Holy Spirit gives the power to understand and experience his love so I will ask Holy Spirit to release the power that will cause you to understand and experience the love of God. Join with me and ask him— ask him to reveal to every believer the fullness of his love. Then we will be a people that do not hold anything back. The Father gave his best— the One most precious to him— and we will give our all (not withholding anything) as we experience the love of our Father!
