The Lord Will Establish and Guard You From the Evil One

Remove every breach of doubt and unbelief and replace it with shouts that declare, “My God is faithful!”

The thief is continually seeking a way to access your life, your home, and your family. He takes great pleasure in robbing you and your family of peace, blessings, unity, and prosperity.

“Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” 1 Peter 5:8

He prowls! Just think of how a lion or a cat moves when they are on the prowl. They are quiet, sneaky, restlessly, and stealthily in search of prey and looking for an entrance point that they can go in through. But God has given us a way to establish a spiritual security system around our lives. Here is how:

Let’s begin with his faithfulness:

“… His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark…” Psalm 91:4

What is a “bulwark”? It is a defensive wall of protection. His faithfulness is impenetrable— as we remain living within the defensive wall and behind the shield of God’s faithfulness, we are kept from the evil one. But the enemy tries to bait God’s people— through fear and lies, hoping that they will leave the stronghold of God’s faithfulness— coming out from the hiding place of his wing (Psalm 91). The adversary introduces lies and accusations against God’s faithfulness in order to bring doubt that leads the believer to begin to believe that God is not faithful to them. Therefore, they begin to come out from the security of trusting him. It is then that the enemy pounces upon them, all the while telling them that God is not faithful. What a deceiver!

“This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.” Psalms‬ ‭91‬:‭2‬ ‭

If you have been doubting God’s faithfulness or beginning to doubt that he is trustworthy— reject every lie that has been baiting you to believe accusations against God. Remove every breach of doubt and unbelief and replace it with shouts that declare, “My God is faithful and I put my trust in him alone!”

Now let’s look at the blood of Jesus:

The Book of Exodus tells the story of when the Israelites were still in the bondage of slavery in Egypt. Moses had come, and with his arrival, plagues are unleashed against Pharaoh and all the Egyptians. The final plague is the deaths of the firstborn. But God tells the Israelites to kill an unblemished lamb and put its blood upon the doorposts of their home. When the angel of death sees the blood on the home’s doorpost, it passes by— sparing the firstborn child in that home.

“The blood shall be a sign for you, on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and no plague will befall you to destroy you, when I strike the land of Egypt.” Exodus 12:13

Pleading the blood of Jesus around your life, home, and family remains as powerful today as it did thousands of years ago when the Israelites put their trust in the Lord and placed the blood of the lamb upon the doorposts of their homes. Pray over the entrances of your home, declare the blood of Jesus over your doorposts, and put your trust in Yahweh.

The blood of Jesus declares His faithfulness! This spiritual security system that is installed through faith and trust in God establishes a declaration of submission to the fear of the Lord and to trust in the Lord.

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James 4:7

Lastly, over your life. Ephesians 6:13-17 gives us specific instructions on how to be kept from evil (and the Evil One),

“Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”

God is fortifying and establishing your life to be kept safe from evil. He is securing all that pertains to you and teaching you how to resist the enemy (and the evil of the day) from robbing your life and home. As you declare God’s faithfulness, ask the Lord to station angels of protection around your life, family, and home. And put on the armor that is described in Ephesians 6: Truth, Righteous, Peace, Faith, Salvation, and the Word of God.

“The Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.” 2 Thessalonians 3:3

Declare that the unstoppable and impenetrable force of Yahweh’s faithfulness, which has been sealed by the blood of Jesus, will establish and guard you and your home from the evil one.
