What is the truest source of truth we know? Yes, the Word of God. Here’s why, “Your Word, O, Lord is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens.” (Psalm 119: 89)
Nothing stands that firm for us; nothing, absolutely nothing.
Where do we go for answers when we have questions?
Who can we trust when many voices are speaking? How can we discern truth from error? We need to know God’s Word. “Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.” (Psalm 119: 105)
If we don’t use the Word to guide us, we will grope about in darkness.
The original announcement of Isaiah proclaiming the coming of the Messiah, Jesus, says this, “The people walking in darkness have seen a great light.” (Isaiah 9: 2)
Jesus bringing salvation brought that Light. He is the Light of the world–the Light of His Word.
We’ve all have been disappointed in what we’ve read, people let us down, those whom we have trusted and have put our hope in. I’m learning, through the disappointment process that, “I must put my hope in your Word.” (Psalm 119: 114)
My prayer is, “Sustain me according to your promise, and I will live; do not let my hope be dashed.” (Psalm 119: 116)
As kingdom-minded believers, we must put our hope in Jesus. And, “Hope shall not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit whom He has given us.” (Romans 5: 5)
Kingdom-minded believers, full of the Holy Spirit, will walk in love.
Walk in the Light of God’s truth, is the way to walk. The Light of Truth destroys the darkness of lies and error. Satan hates the Word of God and fears those who walk in the Light. “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.” (Ephesians 5: 8)
Until we are enlightened and set free by Jesus, we are all prisoners in the kingdom of darkness.
KINGDOM PRINCIPLE: Our hope and our promises are secured in the Light of His Word.
