The Joshua Generation – Is it Upon Us?

As the body of Christ cannot meet like normal, there has been an amazing opportunity for people who would never step foot into a church to get plugged into every Sunday, every week at some form of church online.

The Coronavirus—it has changed everything.

It has changed our everyday activities, the way we get groceries, the way we spend time together, and it’s also changed the American church. EVERY CHURCH has been affected and most churches are meeting for the first time in an online platform.

This excites me.

I don’t know about y’all, but I was sure this whole pandemic would go away by Easter Sunday and then everyone would flood churches again like they did when 9/11 happened. But now as we are approaching Easter that is not the case. And that’s okay!

My husband and I were talking and both agreed that we felt like revival was spreading around the States. It’s amazing how social media can work for God’s glory. Y’all. Hear me out. Read this as gently as you can with a humble spirit…

What if the Moses generation of the church has to die for the Joshua generation to rise up?

Moses was a great leader for generations and is remembered by his great leadership and love for God. I mean Moses was the one who got to see just a glimpse of God himself and had his face literally glowing from the glory of God! Who could say he wasn’t a phenomenal leader and example to follow?!

But just as Moses served such a great purpose in God’s perfect plan, so did Joshua. Joshua was a younger guy who led differently than Moses and brought God’s people into the Promise Land. Moses did a lot of the hard work and Joshua got to see that work through!

What if the American church is entering into the Joshua generation? What do I mean by that? I think this virus that has been spreading like a wildfire is beginning a change but not for the bad. I believe it’s bringing to light areas in our world where the church has not been very prevalent. I mean have y’all heard of TikTok? There are people who are doing “TikTok church”. People are spreading the gospel and talking about the goodness of God on ALL social media platforms! This is amazing! Had this virus not shut everything down as it had, we wouldn’t be where we are today.

As the body of Christ cannot meet like normal, there has been an amazing opportunity for people who would never step foot into a church to get plugged into every Sunday, every week at some form of church online.

A new generation of churches is coming. A revival is breaking out. People are still getting saved. Jesus is still working. God is still on his throne.

I don’t know about y’all. But this new generation of the church… I’m ready for it. I’m ready for our churches to no longer have boundaries and barriers but to breakthrough on every level to reach just one more person. I’m ready for churches to stop just meeting in a building and go out into their communities and love people to Jesus. I’m ready for Christians to see people in need and help them with every resource they have. I’m ready for churches to stop playing the game of competition and rivalry, but start working together because it’s not about how many people come to your church, it’s about how many people come to know Jesus!

Y’all get ready! The Joshua generation is about to breakthrough!
