In the coming days, make sure your faith is deposited solely in Jesus Christ, not in the surest of investments or the promises made by any human institution. In a moment of personal or cultural crisis, only faith in the Lord will provide a full and faithful withdrawal of the resources needed to endure a crisis.
For example, we live in a system of banking called Fractional Banking. This means each bank does not have in reserve enough funds to pay each depositor in cash if their funds were demanded all at once. Banks only have enough cash on hand to provide for small daily transactions.
If you had all your life savings in a bank and you wanted to withdraw those funds, you would have to put in a request to make such a large withdrawal. It might take days to get your funds. That would be a problem if social disruption took place or martial law was declared, or a government went rogue. In those circumstances, banks would be closed to prevent a run. Banks have loaned out our money to other banks and life insurance companies, offering them a 4 – 20% return. You and I get less than one percent. Today, the rate of interest or an average savings account is 0.01%.
The Lord guarantees not only the original mustard seed size deposit of our faith, but He will add supernatural heavenly interest to our account based on our trust in His faithfulness. He will heap upon that original investment unimaginable returns only God can promise and provide in a time of need.
The more desperate our times become, the more all-in we need to be when it comes to our trust in God regarding the future. Soon we may be forced to weigh the choice of whether we will continue to trust in the illusion of the false security offered by manmade institutions or God.
