The Blood of the Lamb and the Word of Our Testimony

I pray that your testimony will set people up for an encounter with the King.

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their own lives unto death.

-Revelations 12:11

The blood of Jesus is the only effectual and true agent of redemption and transformation. However, there was a two-step key that John laid out in Revelations twelve by which we overcome. “The blood of the lamb, and the word of our testimony.”

Now that first part is irrevocable. The blood that poured out of Emanuel’s veins for the remission of sin is irrefutable. It will never lose its power. It will never lose its substance. It was shed for you by Jesus. He, in the fullness of joy, knew that by that sacrificial act, the communion we (Adam and Eve) stepped out of in the garden, we would now return to through Him. He was the lamb slain before the foundation of the world and in fulfillment of that prophecy, the Word became flesh, dwelt among us, and walked blameless and without sin.

The religious despised Him, and with their lack of understanding and hatred for the truth, they shouted, “Crucify Him.” Without regard, they hung Jesus on a tree, and He died and rose again with the keys to the kingdom. What was lost (koinonía or communion with God) was now restored.

I’m so thankful for His blood because, without it, we would not know the sweet bliss of His presence and what it means to rest our heads on the bosom of God. The blood is so powerful, and I pray we never stop pleading it nor take for granted the high price that was paid for our redemption and freedom.

But there is a second part to Revelations 12:11 that I feel to address, and that is “the word of our testimony.” As I mentioned that first part (The blood) is irrevocable and cannot be disputed. However, my question this morning is this. Does your life and your testimony point to Jesus? The Lord began to speak to me last night and said, “Tyler, they have the blood. It was the joy set before me to pour it out. With every drop that was shed, I saw souls being added to heaven’s account. I will never recount the day I paid the ransom for their freedom. They are my treasure and my most prized possession. I love them, I’ve called them, and I have a purpose and destiny for their lives. It is Satan that looks to sift them like wheat, coming to steal, kill and destroy. The reason many believers aren’t seeing the breakthrough in their lives is because they have tainted their testimony.

They profess me with their mouths, but their hearts are far from me. They claim the blood, but their lives do not align with what my blood was shed for. The world accepts them as their own and there is no fruit coming from their life that gives me glory. They slander and cut down in the name of “ministry.” Turning brother against sister and father against son. But these aren’t the fruits of my kingdom. They are the fruit of wickedness, says the Lord. When people look at them, their is no resemblance to me, and people don’t believe in the Jesus they are preaching because they don’t see the fruits of their salvation on display in their lives.”

One of the things that made David triumphant is before he ever picked up a stone, he has his testimony. The same God that delivered him from the lion and the bear would deliver him from an uncircumcised Philistine. He had already overcome, and the word of his testimony prophesied the same victory he had over the lion and the bear would be Goliath’s fate also. This is for someone today; God is wanting to breathe on your life and your testimony. But the reason you have not seen the breakthrough you desire is because you have diluted the testimony of Jesus in your life. Satan is saying, Jesus I know, Paul I recognize, but who are you? You say you know Jesus, but you don’t look like Him.

There is no resemblance of His blood in your veins. If you say you are a child of God, I declare today that you will rise with Him in victory and you will take on and become everything that He paid the price for. I pray that the testimony of Jesus would not be diluted in your life, but you would boldly proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, and from the rooftops will come a cry of the redeemed. I declare that your life will be an example of someone who’s been kissed by love and transformed by His amazing grace. I pray that your testimony will set people up for an encounter with the King. I declare that when people see you, they will see the Father and your whole life will resound with the fire and fragrance of heaven.

I pray that you won’t just have a burning bush encounter, but you will be a burning bush that leads men to the Father. I declare today that you won’t just start well, but you will finish well. You will see the goodness of God in the land of the living, and you will be everything God has called you to be before the foundations of this world.

God is not angry at you; He loves you with an everlasting love. He is jealous for you and wants you to be everything He created you to be. He desires to fill your life to overflow with His favor and goodness, and He is wanting to lead you from encounter to encounter, and from glory to glory, in a way that will forever change your life. Pray this today.

Father, I repent for not living a life that aligns with what I preach and profess. I’m sorry for misrepresenting you to my family, my friends, and my workplace. I’m sorry for not living out the life I say I believe. I ask that you wash me and cleanse me with your blood, I ask that you renew my heart back to you, I ask that you fill me with your precious Holy Spirit and enable me to burn for you. Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be pleasing to you. Let me not forfeit my testimony, but let me be a burning one for you, Jesus. Take my life, Lord, and use it for your glory. I give you all of me today. All of my life, everything I am and ever will be, I give to you. I commit my life to you. Jesus, I ask that you would take me by the hand and lead me into the presence of God. Let my life be marked by you, and let me be a burning bush that everywhere I go, people will come to know you. In Jesus’ name, amen.
