Did you know that 2 of the most common responses to pain in an addiction are anger and anxiety? These two responses leave the addicted individual feeling vulnerable, so much so that it leads to depression, unhealthy relationships, and even more substance abuse.
Did you know that addictions (All Addictions, Drugs, Alcohol, Pornography, Gambling, Food, etc.) are anesthetics that mask deep emotional pain? So, it is reasonable to assume that when you give up the anesthetic (The Addiction), you will feel pain, discomfort, and uneasiness.
Overcoming a substance abuse addiction can and is often times is very challenging. One of the most important things to get through addiction is having a good support structure as well as build a strong foundation by having a relationship with Jesus Christ.
We still live in a country, the United States of America, that was founded on Godly Christian principles as “One Nation Under God,” and we should not take that for granted.
