Surrender: There’s No Place I’d Rather Be

Abundance awaits us in surrender. May we go drink from the well that replenishes our soul.

I’m convinced that a life of surrender is undoubtedly the key to abundance. To surrender is to “abandon oneself entirely.”

Fear trembles in the presence of surrender, knowing that perfect love dominates the atmosphere.

Grace abounds in the presence of surrender, knowing that redemption came with a price that was undeserving.

Kindness and compassion are automatic defaults, knowing effortless overflow unto others comes from a place of being completely saturated from the true source of reckless love.

Temporary satisfaction and distraction have no appeal, knowing the tangible taste of goodness and undeniable satisfaction is endless.

People strive and fight to surrender when surrender in actuality is a positioning of the heart that produces the most abundant life. It’s where we say not my will be done but yours. It’s a place where self-reliance and control are no longer defaults due to the revelation that we will end up right back at surrender once again. We stand facing the truth that it is the very place where every answer we need is found.

This tension reminds me of Paul as he wrestles with himself stating “I do not do the thing which I know I should do.” (Romans 7) Yet, later finding his resolve in the act of “dying daily“ and once again to self. Knowing surrender is the only way to life and life abundantly.

My prayer is that our mindset about surrender shifts. No longer entertaining the idea that we must work for it, yet with tenacity running to surrender as our lifeline, the place we cannot live without. Abundance awaits us in surrender. May we go drink from the well that replenishes our soul. The place we are invited to dwell in, rest in, and reside in. The place we never have to leave. It is our home, our refuge, our sanctuary. Surrender, there’s no place I’d rather be.
