Stay in Your Lane

I laid it at the feet of Jesus and watched to see what He did.

If we push and insist our way is the right way, we lose more than we gain. Our actions result in strained relationships or possibly anger and resentment.

Is your way the only right way? If so, is it worth losing the closeness you feel with your husband?

Few choices are big enough for me to risk the loss because I prefer a good relationship with my husband to getting my way.

When I believed the outcome was important enough to make a significant difference, I laid it at the feet of Jesus and watched to see what He did.

Stay in Your Lane

One form of respect is to cease trying to change our husbands. Instead, we want to accept them as grown adults capable of caring for themselves, their chores, and their jobs.

We won’t get much loving and attention if we nag.

CHALLENGE – Just for today, stop trying to change your husband and see what happens.

Give it a week, a month, two months, or six months whatever you can do.

Of course, it takes time to alter our unproductive behavior. But once we adjust our actions, our guys see the difference, and the romance returns.

What to Say Instead

Instead of telling him what to do, try one of these phrases. Remember, a little encouragement goes a long way.

  • I know you’re capable of doing it.
  • You’re a wise man.
  • I trust you.
  • You got it.
  • Thank you for helping me with the dishes, laundry, etc.

Forsake the habit of criticizing and judging others, and then you will not be criticized and judged in return.  ~ Luke 6:37 TPT
