Seek the Lord To Live

Put your focus on seeking the Lord and His ways of living.

Seek the Lord and live, lest He break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and devour it, with no one to quench it in Bethel–Amos 5:6

From the time a person becomes a teenager, people want to live life. They see movies and ads and think that is the way a person should be able to live to really have a great life. Living life is commonly focused on what a person has, position in society, and what one can do. Looking to things, many feel that they are really trying to live the full life.

Amos tells the people to seek the Lord and live. If one does not seek the Lord, God may break out in anger like a fire against them and devour them and no one will be able to stop His anger.

The world believes that real life is being able to do what one wants anytime one wants to do something. It also believes that life is found in what a person physically has. If one is poor or does not have certain things, or cannot do certain things, then there is no real life.

Living this way is a selfish, greedy way of living that leads one into sin and away from God. Although it appears to be life, it is death.

Many in the church can easily get caught up in the world’s way of living. Instead of seeking the Lord, they are seeking things and positions. All this does is raise God’s anger with them.

Given enough time, God will eventually strike out against the believer who is not seeking Him. It may be in this life, or it may be when Christ returns.

Every person is to seek the Lord to find true life. Learn how to walk in the ways of God, not the ways of the world.

All around you, the world is trying to tell you how to live life. That process of living will only bring about God’s judgment and death in the end. Do not raise God’s anger against you.

Put your focus on seeking the Lord and His ways of living. God will lead you to live a full life that has purpose and meaning. Live a life that will bring true fulfillment of life and eternal life in the end.

Are you seeking the Lord to find true life?

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will seek the Lord all the time; that you will find true life in Jesus; that you will live by God’s standards; and that God will give you strength to reject the world’s ways of living.
