Rick Joyner’s Word For the Week: Choices, Part 31

The kingdom of God is already growing in our midst, which is crucial for us to see.

Hebrews 12:26-29 is a poignant portrayal of what is happening in our own times, including a hope that can keep us stable even in the most troubling times:

And His voice shook the earth then, but now He has promised, saying, “Yet once more I will shake not only the earth, but also the heaven.”

This expression, “Yet once more,” denotes the removing of those things which can be shaken, as of created things, so that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.

Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe; for our God is a consuming fire.

Even the seemingly most stable governments in the world are being shaken to their foundations in our time. What few may comprehend is how important and how good this is for those whose hope is in God’s coming kingdom. This must happen before God’s kingdom can come or even be revealed.

The kingdom of God is already growing in our midst, which is crucial for us to see. We know from the biblical prophecies that the kingdom will not fully come until the King does, but the prophecies also declare that He is coming in His people before He comes for them. His coming in His people as King, not just Savior, is necessary to prepare the way for His kingdom.

In Luke 17:20-21, Jesus declared, “The kingdom of God is not coming with visual signs to be observed; nor will they say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or, ‘there it is!’ Behold, the kingdom of God is within you.” This is a personal and more literal translation of this text. Jesus told His disciples to look for His kingdom to come inside them before they see it openly. In fact, the kingdom of God growing dramatically in God’s people in America has just been revealed in perhaps the most stunning and unexpected way ever imagined, just as what happened in our recent midterm elections was forecasted.

Our friend and MorningStar board member Marc Nuttle recently commissioned perhaps the most extensive study of the American people ever done. It went deeper and wider than any research of its kind. Its findings were shocking. Instead of revealing that the American people had turned hard to the left toward socialism, it revealed the opposite. A decisive majority of the American people have not only turned back to traditional morals and values, but this shift has also happened virtually across the broad spectrum of diverse people groups in America.

Such has been happening in the hearts of the American people for some time now, and few—if any—suspected this. However, now that we know what to look for, it seems the same thing is happening around the world. According to Marc’s study, a major cause for this has been a reaction to the authoritarian ways our government has sought to impose its socialist agenda and what has been viewed as “moral corruption” on the American people. Still, this does not fully explain why this movement is so deep and wide in America. However, it sure has the markings of something deep that the Holy Spirit may be orchestrating.

So, why didn’t this show up in the recent midterm elections? Because this study also revealed that, not only are the American people increasingly alarmed by the agenda of the Democratic Party, but they also do not trust the Republican Party to stand up for what they claim to believe.

This study was so deep and broad that it may take months or years to unpack it. However, since I have spent much time pouring over it, I am starting to believe a third great awakening is and has been happening in America for some time, arising first in the hearts of its people. Isn’t that the way the Lord works—from the inside out? This shaking may reveal how the kingdom is coming, even to many who do not yet know the King.
