Rescued from Darkness

We’ve been rescued from the kingdom of darkness, why would we not cultivate our God-given destiny?

What are we rescued from, some may ask?  Well, actually we are rescued from eternal darkness.

Jesus came to earth and spoke about the Kingdom of God.  To those listening, His followers understood about teachings on the kingdom.  At that time, under Caesar, the Roman Empire ruled most of the known world.

In that Roman world, the Roman Senate was called ecclesia, a Greek word meaning assembly or called-out ones.

The gospel writers used the word ecclesia where Jesus talked about building His church.  We, His children, are His called-out ones, His ecclesia.

Yes, we have been called out from darkness into His wonderful light.  The Apostle Paul had said he was sent, “To open the eyes and turn people from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.”  (Acts 26: 18)

This is why Peter said, “Be all more eager to make your calling and election sure.”  (2 Peter 1: 10)

As kingdom-minded and called we are to cultivate these qualities that are listed.

“Make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly, kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love.”  (2 Peter 1: 5-7)

Did you notice one leads into the other?  Folks, this is part of building the kingdom so we can build our character and spiritual growth and become productive. “If you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”  2 Peter 1: 8)

Our knowledge should affect the way we live.

Our growth in Christ should produce holiness.

All of these qualities are kingdom qualities as servants, soldiers, now kings, and queens of the Kingdom of God. These seeds that are inside of us are for leadership and to be rulers of His kingdom, here on the earth.  Maybe that’s why Jesus said, “The Kingdom of God is within us.”  (Luke 17: 21) Jesus, was among them as well, when He proclaimed that.

If we are seed-bearers, that means we have seeds to lead inside.  Those seeds need to be discovered, watered, and nurtured by the Sonshine.  Part of our discovery is to be trained to attack our rightful place of leadership, as kings and queens.

We get to choose whether we are sons and daughters in the kingdom of God.

We’ve been rescued from the kingdom of darkness, why would we not cultivate our God-given destiny?

In the book of Daniel, King Darius made a decree, That in every dominion of my kingdom men must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel.  His kingdom is the one which shall not be destroyed, and His dominion shall endure to the end.  He delivers and rescues and He works signs and wonders in heaven and earth.”  (Daniel 6: 26-27)

KINGDOM PRINCIPLE:  To rescue and deliver is a kingdom concept that shall endure; for His dominion shall remain forever.
