What does the phrase “Remember When” mean to you? For some of us it takes us back to a pleasant childhood experience or a time when things were different, perhaps, and less complicated and just simple.
There is a time of remembering someone. We can remember someone by our prayers. Here’s a model of how we can remember and pray for someone. “I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better.” (Ephesians 1: 16-17)
That’s the best we can give someone, the gift of prayer.
- Keep asking, don’t stop at just one prayer.
- Keep glorifying God in your asking.
- Keep asking for wisdom and revelation.
- Keep asking for a revelation of the love of the Father to be unpacked.
There are many facets of God’s love still to be unpacked and unfolded in our lives, even if we’ve known Him for several years. Knowing Him keeps getting better and better.
After we ask to know Him better, “Pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints and His incomparable, great power for us who believe.” (Ephesians 1: 18-19)
Remembering His Great Power
When Jesus walked out of His tomb we saw, “That power is like the working of His mighty strength, which He exerted IN Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.” (Ephesians 1: 19-21)
- All power and authority is IN Christ.
- If we are IN Christ, we’ve been given His power.
Remembering It’s All For The Church
Everything that God has done in Jesus is for us, the church. “He (Jesus) is over everything for the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him, who fills everything in every way.” (Ephesians 1: 22-23)

Remembering Prophetic Acts
God has Ezekiel act out certain prophetic things, to make and establish His point. When these prophetic acts are done, it is aiding to what’s going on in the Spirit. God told Ezekiel to “Take a clay tablet, put it in front of you and draw the city of Jerusalem on it.” (Ezekiel 4: 1-2)
Then he was to place around the city models of siege works to represent the city under attack. Then he took an iron pan between himself and the symbolized city to show the unbreakable strength of the siege.
What must he act out next? God tells him, “Lie on your left side, and put the sins of the house of Israel upon yourself. You are to bear their sin for the number of days you lie on your side.” (Ezekiel 4: 4)
- Those who intercede are in a sense “bearing” what needs to change.
Then, after lying on his left side, he has to “Lie down again, this time on your right side, and bear the sin of the house of Judah.” (Ezekiel 4: 6)
Lying on his left side place Ezekiel to the north, towards the northern kingdom. Lying on his right side placed him to the south, towards the southern kingdom.
- Our unseen prayers of quiet intercession and prophetic acts are never done in vain.
He took food and stored it up for 390 days, the number of days he had to lay on his side. That’s 12.81 months! Over a year!
- Our quiet acts of obedience are not unseen by our God.
Remembering God Has A Side Of Wrath
It’s hard for me to see the side of anger with our God since I know Jesus as my loving, sweet Savior. But, there is a side of God when He has had enough. Time after time He graciously gives His children chance after chance to turn their lives around. Ezekiel is trying to speak wisdom to the Israelites through the heart of God and says, “I will inflict punishment on you in the sight of the nations. Because of all your detestable idols. I will do to you what I have never done before and I will never do again.” (Ezekiel 5: 8-9)
- God Himself was against them, because of their rebellion and unfaithfulness.
- God does not tolerate idolatry.

Remembering The Final Hallelujah
What’s the final hallelujah? Praise Him!
- Where should God be praised? “Praise God in His sanctuary; Praise Him in His mighty heavens.” (Psalm 150: 1)
- Why should God be praised? “Praise Him for His acts of power; Praise Him for His surpassing greatness.” (Psalm 150: 2)
- How should God be praised? “Praise Him with the sounding of the trumpet; praise Him with the harp and lyre. Praise Him with tambourines and dancing; praise Him with the strings and flute. Praise Him with the clash of cymbals; praise Him with resounding cymbals.” (Psalm 150: 3-5)
- Who should praise God? “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.” (Psalm 150: 6)
Remembering To Celebrate Him
- Celebrate Him in the midst of the pandemic.
- Celebrate Him in the midst of the election mess.
- Celebrate His birth in which we now have new life,

Remembering His New Covenant
The new covenant involves God “Putting His laws in our mind and writing them on our hearts.” To return to the old law or old system, would be to return to what no longer is valid or effective.
“For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more. By calling this covenant new, He has made the first one obsolete and what is obsolete and aging will soon disappear.” (Hebrews 8: 12-13)
