Receive the Rain!

The rains that are coming will reveal the blossoms, the early fruit, and allow you to breathe in the fragrance of refreshing new life.

“As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.” Isaiah 55:10-12

Throughout scripture, rain symbolizes a blessing. It comes after a drought to give life and cause new growth. Even in the flood, rain came for forty days to wash sin away from the earth that the Lord had created. God’s people are about to see a “rain of blessings” and showers of cleansing come upon them. The past twelve months have been like a waiting room but there is a great roar from heaven that will thunder and release a downpour of blessings, suddenlies, and breakthroughs upon you (physically, emotionally, and spiritually). This will touch both the individual and the corporate remnant of God.

His voice will thunder in response to the intercession, the worship, and the cries of his people. In the midst of waiting and amid a global drought his people have not ceased to declare, “Our God Reigns!” Watch as he responds with his reign! March will “Go out like a Lion” (see my word on The Elijah List) because there will be a mighty roar that sounds like thunder but releases the heavy rain of blessings as his word goes forth to accomplish all that he has purposed.

Even the earth will respond with songs from the mountaintops and trees that clap with joy. A renewed peace will lead his people in the way they should go and they too will sing a new song and clap their hands in joy.

“…See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come, the cooing of doves is heard in our land. The fig tree forms its early fruit; the blossoming vines spread their fragrance. Arise, come, my darling; my beautiful one, come with away with me.” Song of Solomon 2:11-13

Though this verse says that the “rains are over and gone”— in this instance I hear the Spirit saying that the storms and gray skies that have blocked the Son are over and gone. The rains that are coming will reveal the blossoms, the early fruit, and allow you to breathe in the fragrance of refreshing new life. You will run with him through the garden of life and among the orchards of fragrant fruits. You will find that he has set a table for you in the presence of your enemies. They will look and be ashamed while you feast upon the goodness of the Lord and rejoice in the intimacy that you share.

I prophesy and declare a heavy rain of blessings to come over your life and your household. I stand in agreement with the Lord for a continuous downpour that saturates your dry and barren land. I pray comfort, healing, cleansing, and renewed joy upon you. May miracles mark the land of your life. May the early fruit that drips with sweetness satisfy your hunger and may the fragrance that is pleasing to your senses fill your nostrils. Breath it in while you taste and see that the Lord is good to you. The wilderness of waiting is about to turn into a green valley where still waters are always nearby to refresh you and cool you. Look up because your waiting has not been in vain.

Together we declare, “Our God Reigns!”
