Realize the Promise

The Promised One has come, hallelujah.
He died for me.
He died for you.
But He rose again and is alive and active as the true King over all.

As the Lord promised, Simeon would not see death in his old age until he met The Messiah. He was led by the Spirit to the temple the day that promise was fulfilled. Years and years after this promise was spoken, Simeon’s heart was prepared to recognize it. When he saw baby Jesus in his parents’ arms, he immediately knew it was the answered promise from Papa. He had melted his heart and fixed his eyes to truly see what exactly this promise would look like. (Luke 2:25-35… Highly recommend reading)

It got me thinking…
What promises from the Lord have I wanted to receive but didn’t recognize in my life because they weren’t what I thought they would look like?
Are my eyes foggy with what I think I want over what the Lord knows I need?

Sometimes I tend to forget that He is omnipotent and omniscient.
Sometimes I just want to take back what I previously released to Him because He clearly isn’t working around my own timeline.

But when I do that, there’s probably so much I miss out on because I choose to walk on rocky soil.
Truth is that I can’t do it on my own. I can barely make it on time to my job, let alone try to make my dreams come true.

It’s like trying to look through a window with the blinds closed.
You can see glimpses of light but not enough to get the full picture.
I don’t know about you, but I love seeing the picture He paints for me.

Jesus, let my posture be softened to know Your voice.
I want the soul food You provide as daily bread,
not the poisonous dessert my flesh wants.

I know sometimes I dig up the same grave You died to pull me out of.
But like a good Shepherd, You are the Guardian of my soul.

So here I am again on my knees in
His presence,
begging him to clear the lenses.
Asking Him to transform my heart
to clearly see the promises he wants to give me,
His daughter.

The Spirit is so good at revealing these things to me when I am alone in my hiding place with Him. As a God that is jealous for our hearts, the moments of undivided attention in His presence never go unnoticed.

Worshiping in His glory not only lifts Him up, but it renews hope and peace and joy in our hearts to welcome His goodness. It comes, not demanding but requiring infinite trust and faith in His eternal Word. There’s nothing that can replace or substitute the direct communication from His quiet, still voice.

If the birds are fed
and flowers bloom
at His command,
how much greater does He want to treasure and spoil me!

My flesh may fail
time and time again,
but He gives me renewed authority
over the enemy’s lies
each and every sunrise.
I am free,
yet a slave to the One who sets me free
because of His grace freely given to me.

We can dance before the Lord
Like David.
Wholehearted adoration for
Adonai will be the anthem
Inside my heart.

The Promised One has come, hallelujah.
He died for me.
He died for you.
But He rose again and is alive and active as the true King over all.

Jesus, Your well overflows with Love,
Never running dry.
Thank You for filling my lungs with Your life.
Opening my eyes to see You.
Extending fresh grace each morning.
And keeping every single one of Your promises.
