Power Usurped

Stand firm – I am not about to desert my people who stand and remain standing.

Listening to an encouraging message recently, I heard the expression, “having a form of godliness but denying its power.” That’s when the Lord started to speak to me powerfully through thoughts, pictures, and sound – and yes, at one point I heard the audible voice of God speaking to me!

I saw the church as a wounded animal! Laying in a dark corner, wounded and bloodied, licking its wounds. The animal looked like it had been badly hurt in a fight and had fled to a place of refuge to recover. It was still a dangerous animal but had had the fight beaten out of it, so it lay there, resting, and trying to recover. It still had the form of a dangerous, and powerful, wild beast but there was no strength, no fight, no power.

That’s when I heard the audible voice of God say this, “This is My church today. Beaten by the world, battered and bruised into conforming to the world – having the warrior beaten out of it – “having a form of godliness but denying its power.” There is no longer any real power in most of My church today. There is no longer any real authority in My church – she has relinquished that power and authority in exchange for a quiet life, in exchange for the illusion of no persecution. Now she has relinquished that power and authority, she is like a sheep before her slaughterer – no voice, no fight, no danger to anyone around her – just silent and waiting for the end!”

“Too late she is waking up to what has happened. Too late she tries to use her authority. Too late she tries to exercise her power, but she has already been prepared for slaughter and she stands wounded, compliant, and thankful for every last breath she is allowed to take!”

“Yet, even at this late hour, there is hope, there is a light in the darkness, there is healing for her wounds! There is a remnant within her that remembers the authority, that remembers the power, and that refuses to bow down to this incoming upstart, the usurper of her authority! This usurper takes her authority but has no power to retain it. He has only the power he is allowed to take! The remnant is rising quickly and has the power and is gaining/taking back her authority which I have given her!”

“Even as we speak”, says the Lord, “My church is beginning to stand again! Hear the Lion of Judah roar as she once again exerts her authority with the power I always intended her to have. Her strength returns. Her power and authority return. She is repentant and forgiven, and I am preparing her for everything I have planned. Stand firm – I am not about to desert My people who stand and remain standing. My ‘coup de gras’, (which means ‘a blow of mercy’), is coming!”, says the Lord, “and you shall see my church triumphant despite all the world’s attempts to subdue and kill her off! A new golden age is coming when My church shall rise in revival and I will be glorified once again!”, says the Lord God Almighty.

“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!” – 2 Timothy 3:1-5
