I was in a time of corporate prayer and the Lord just spoke one word to me, “overflow.” I wrote it down and continued to pray. Then the Lord gave me a vision. In the vision, I could see many different people. Men and women, young, old, and in between. Some were walking through fields or around their neighborhoods. Some were in their houses and some were in churches. In the vision, I could see lots of different people in many walks of life. The one thing they all had in common was that they were all praying. Then the vision shifted and I could see the fire of God flowing out of them as they prayed just like a river. They were overflowing with the power and presence of God as they prayed.
The Lord showed me through this vision that sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is simply to pray. Whatever situation or circumstance, obstacle, or attack you may be facing, prayer is your answer. I can’t tell you how many times at my house, sitting in my truck, walking around our church sanctuary, or just sitting in a chair I’ve started to pray and I can feel Heaven begin to invade. When I pray, I know that the power and presence of God is filling me and my life so that I can overflow.
This is exactly what God is looking for in this season. God isn’t looking for the ones with an arsenal of talents or great personalities. He is looking for people who will be found in the place of prayer. Those found in the secret place will be the ones who will manifest His Kingdom in the upcoming season. The Lord is looking for those willing to let Him fill and flood them with His presence and His power until they overflow.
God will use those that are overflowing with Him to be like rivers of living water that can bring life to anyone and any situation they may encounter. Will you position yourself in this season to overflow? Will you lean in to hear what the Holy Spirit wants to speak to you and through you? Will you say yes to spending that extra time in your prayer closet? I believe this is what God is calling many to do in this season. It is so simple, overflow. This is the word from the Lord for this hour!
