There is a high probability that this Christmas looks very different from previous year’s celebrations. You may find yourself surrounded by fewer family members and friends, or possibly even find yourself alone on this day of celebration. Perhaps you are weary from battling sickness or disease or feeling hopeless as you navigate a relational or financial crisis. Sadness, hopelessness, and fear seem to work to garner your attention even as you purpose to enjoy Christmas decorations and carols.
Jesus told us we WILL have trouble. And this Christmas, many of us feel that truth to a much greater degree.
Thankfully, He did not leave us in that sad defeated place but went on to exhort us to walk in JOY –
How can we walk in joy in a world overrun with trouble and affliction?
because He has overcome the world!
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 NKJV
Our prayer for you, today, is that you do not let the circumstances around you take your focus off of the TRUTH.
The truth about WHY Jesus came to this earth as a baby born in a stable so many years ago.
The truth about what His life and death provide for you as a son or daughter of the Most-High.
We pray that you gain a deeper understanding of TRUTH, the one we call JESUS, this Christmas.
And in this place of understanding, you are changed and your circumstances somehow seem brighter.
We pray that JOY abounds despite a Christmas that may be different than your norm.
For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Prince of Peace.”
Isaiah 9:6 NKJV
Merry Christmas to you and yours!
